Okay i know that my last couple of posts have sort of petered off, but here me out on this one. This is definetly doable and it would only take a little while to do. We would only have to do a minimum amount of tweaking from the mi17 model we already have, and add some guns. The armament is rl is this: Version used as a gunship or direct air support platform. Airframe modifications add 2x external hard points for a total of 6, and mount a flexible 12.7 mm (0.5-inch) KV-4 machine gun in the nose. Armament of 57 mm S-5 rockets, six UV-32-57 rocket pods, 551-lb (250-kg) bombs, or four AT-2 Swatter ATGMs. (source Mil Mi-8 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) this could be an excellent gunship platform for the ARF and it could b manned by 4-6 ppl, one squad. Seeing as most of our maps in dev are 4k this does not seem unreasonable to me. The russians were handing these things out like candy anyway, and the mi17 platform is the most distributed airframe in history. if the response is positive ill see what i can do about starting to do an audit to make this possible

Are you aloud to modify vBF2 models? I know the DEVS added the turrent to the Chinese APC. If so, you'd have to change the tail rotor to the other side and make other changes to make it look like an MI-8 anything. Maybe just see if there's an Mi-17 gunship?

Well, if they found out it was their model, Project Reality could be shut down and it's developers (possibly) sued for copyright infringement. I think.

That's frightening that people actually think that it's ok to do that. It is very, very illegal for starters to claim something as your own when it's made by someone else (aka Plagiarism).
Child Objects could be added to the model however, that is perfectly ok and was done with the US Army Blackhawk with the dust filters etc.

Really doesn't seem so effective as a light attack. If anything, a good Attack-Transport would have to be the Mi-24.

Just attach rocket pods to current vbf mi8 model and reskin it.

Let me be clear, I was talking more about trying to make a new one as it keeps me far away from copyright bs but as obviously a simple audit would b easier, I may c wut I wud have to do to audit w\o getting my *** sued off as I am fifteen and can barely afford to take my gf out fuck getting sued the hind would be an excellent attack heli, and actually wut I wuz gonna do after this and the cruzer, but not a gunship platform, and remember gunships are not transports they are gunships embrace this difference. Wen I say gunship I do not mean a bh w two chainguns and plenty of seating (as bad *** as that is) I mean a heli completely dedicated as a weapons platform. W 1 pilot slot and 5 gun positions (so it can b manned by 1 squad) obviously there would only b one per team I'd hope, but it could potentially keep the arf from getting their asses kicked by the bloody frenchies. Asymetrical warfare is great, but I don't think we are aiming for an insurgency, but an organized resistance force more like a cross btwn the chechen and mec factions.as for a mil mi17 gunship that wuz my first thought, but I foumnd that the russians only made two and they only saw combat in afgnstn. Albeit I read it on wikipedia which is notoriusly prone to error. Waiting for replay about audit or new model and then ima go ahead. I found an armed version of the MI-17 but it doesn't look like you could just attach child objects to the Mi-17 and call it one. It's the Mi-17 1V btw in case you're interested.

To samagon jst wanna make sure u know I didn't post those really still in the design processM I'm probably gonna have to make a new one cuz to be frank I don't like the vbf2 ones. Since I'm making a new one ima do the mi8 cuz that's the one that I found most info on, but thank you to whoever posted that pick. My probable projects are in this order- landcruiser p/u truck , mi8gunship, landcruizer suv, mi24 hind

you can not modify EA models, BUT you can always add rocketpods and stuff like that as childobjects (just like the discoball on the blackhawk)

Oooh, Exciting, But for the Transport role, I think the armament should only be S8 rockets, and the GSH-23-2.

But very cool helicopter, one of my absolute favorites.

This is attack heli only for MEC only(Repleace Mi28,becouse no one country no have this choppers.Onle russia have 27 mi28!!!)
In PR they not-transport chopper,Mi8 without weapons use as transport!!!
In Afghanistan war,pilots of Mi24 not want get a passangers on bort!!!
For ARF and RF am take old modifications of this chooper!!!

yes as do most smaller (excluding poland, russia etc, i know theyre not small dont get pissed) nations because of their affordability. A mi8 costs about $3.2 million new while as a comparative black hawk costs about $5.9 million dollars. Of course both those prices are just including the vehicle, not the guns and shit, but im pretty sure that the chain guns that PR put on the black hawk cost a lot more than the .50s im planning on putting on this baby. Again, my comment about smaller countries was about that you are more likely to see them using a russian helicopter than an american one because they are cheaper, not that russia itself is a small country. Russia is a large country. I know. I'm certified to know because i have a 10th grade security clearence to this kind of information.
