Hello, I'm making putting together an upgraded gaming PC for Christmas and I'm trying to decide what my first game will be. I'm a big fan of First Person Tactical Milsims, and right now it's a tie between ARMA II, Operation Flashpoint, and the PR mod. Character customization isn't a much but it greatly influences my choice. My question is does PR support Character customization?

No it doesn't. In game you can chose a kit, (like HAT, LAT, Marskman, Sniper, Grenadier, ECT.)

No it doesnt. You can choose kits and that also changes your appearance.

why choose get either OFP2 or ArmA2 and PR since its free

Better only get bf2 for PR and dont waste your money on OPF2 and ARMA 2 since you will only play PR anyway

Player vs player
Large amounts of teamwork between players
More of a "Teamwork" game that "milsim"

Arma:
Mostly player vs AI
pretty much NEED to be in a clan to get any good gameplay
more realistic weapon handling and ballistic than PR

OFP:
shit


Arma is more of a "milsim" but mostly player vs AI , PR is about teamwork and cooperation with people. hope this helps you choose.

We usually advise our players to "customize" themselves in front of their computers. Works well for the immersion and also carries a life guarantee of attracting lots of women ! Yes yes yes its true, the results of a nationwide poll made by some company I paid lots of money too says so. So there.

The only realistic shooter I know of that you can customize your character is Rainbow 6 Vegas ( both 1 and 2).
Ofp :d r has no customization, arma (1 or 2) has no customization, they are both based on th original ofp, which had changeable inventory/loadouts insted of kits, hardly customization.

you can pick up bf2 now for about 10 bucks, and add PR, its like a a whole new game, a 50 dollar value yours FREE!

honestly getting PR first and then ARMA2 will be a better move, i understand you like customizing your weapons and stuff, but that isnt always mean it will be a good mil sim game

vegas one and two are not realistic shooters!

You can change your head, face camo and sunglasses in Arma 2
But you should go for PR, atleast for a start.
Cheap and awesome.

I would pick up BF2 for the number of mods available (FH, PR, etc.) and ArmA2 if you have a computer strong enough to handle that.

Skip over OFP R and get ArmAII. Looks to the Dragon Rising thread for the PR community's generally unfavorable review of the game...

But regardless of which of those you get, BF2 is now dirt cheap, just get the basic BF2 not even any expansions if you must for like 5 bucks or something... then download the FREE PR.
