I had no bloody idea where to put this so im gonna post it here.

Basically here are the steps of my story:
1. Power supply of the comp dies
2. New power supply installed
3. All shit connected properly and i turn it on
4. Anticlimatic response when I was asked to instal (boot actually) disc of mah OS

Right now here comes the issue. XP is already installed and all the stuff on the HD's (i got 2 of em) are left intact.
1. How can i avoid this?
2. Will installing XP again affect my stuff thats already on the HD's?
3. Also will instaling SP3 this time around also affect my stuff if the old HD has SP2?

Also note: HD's are properly plugged to the power source

Note 2 : damn MS Industries and their failware

What is the exact error you get?

Is their no other options to boot into safe mode etc?

Are you positive all your HDDs are connected to your PSU properly?

1. Disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter
2. Negative
3. Quadruple checked (including switching the power cables from one HD to another and i still get the same)

sry for double post...

I got it fixed finally...it seems that indeed the power wasnt going to the HDDs. I did connected the cables correct but somehow the connector i used to connect one of the HDDs was a faulty one (damn cheap chinese stuff)
