New to PR, but can't even get on the battlefield.

After seeing and hearing many good things about PR, I downloaded everything nessicary for it yesterday. But when I signed in today, I was stuck at the "Establishing Connection" screen for 10 minutes with no avail. And yes, I did install everything in order.

Make sure your firewall isn't blocking bf2, can you run vbf2?

Now it's deciding that the new profile thing only works for vBF2. I'm ready to take the Hard Drive out of my Tower and just throw the rest out the window right now. No matter what I do, whenever I get to a sequence that involves the spinning PR dogtags, it just does that forever untill I shut down my computer.

Ok. This may sound silly. But can you played the normal BF2?
Your Player profile must play 1 round of normal BF2 before you can play PR.
check that you can play normal BF2 and then try to play PR.
Also check firewalls and all that jazz.

Turns out that my Antivirus was wanting manual approval for all BF2 systems to get into my IP. Yet it stayed behind the PR window and wouldn't let me access that. Few clicks sloved the problem, I can now enjoy PR, which oddly has less lag when I increase the detail amount. Anyway, this topic is no more so...
