Some suggestions

Just some of my observations
1. It's menial but can we correct the language spoken by Taliban? They don't speak Arabic they speak Pashto or Dari, preferably Pashto.
2. Serious changes to Insurgent vehicles are needed. A single shot to the engine block will disable a care more times than not. Now a SAW lighting up the engine block for 2 seconds will most certainly stop any car coming at him. I say this because it takes a ridiculous amount of firepower to blow up insurgent cars, bomb cars, and technicals. It shouldn't take so much. This is one reason why Americans get owned on insurgent maps.
3. Give a boost in HP to the Humvee? I mean can a Humvee even blowup due to small arms fire? Arn't they mostly armored now? I know I've seen a news report on a Humvee surviving an RPG blast to the door window.
4. It's been mentioned in another thread some time ago but it was very old so here it is again. Insurgents need some type of sign for grenade traps and mines. Grenade Traps are currently almost never used by Insurgents and yet are a valuable asset to the team. IRL insurgnets would know where these traps are, we need a sign.

2.Can you imagine PR when a single shot can stop a technical? Remember game-play
4.They are used(too much if you ask me) and marked but some people place them in such stupid locations like filling the cache area whit the damn things so nobody can move unless they crawl all the time.

I'm sure 1. can easily be accomplished given the fact that pushtun speakers on these boards are legion...

Would be good for authenticity, good luck to the team in finding someone who speaks Pashto and is willing to record for them.

I agree they are ridiculously resistant to small arms fire ATM.

Not sure exactly how tough they are currently compared to the insurgent vehicles, but when the up-armored version is introduced I hope they update the damage levels.

Like a 3D/Hud icon or a physical sign?

I doubt he meant that literally technicals should only take 1 shot in PR. Probably just using the fluke-single-engine-block-shot as a RL example of an unarmored vehicle's potential vulnerabilities. Obviously the BF2 engine doesn't have that level of detail in the damage model.

Yeah like 3 or 4 bursts of m4 into the bonnet could destroy/disable INS cars...
More leaning towards disable, its would make more sense and it would be cool too shoot the man exiting lol

omg ive said that so many times about the taliban lol However in my Arabic studies I have recently found out some Afghans circa 5000 of them do speak fluent Arabic..... But yes for the most part no they do not speak it they speak Pashtu!
PS I could easily find a person who speaks Pashtu and record them.... if the devs need help!
All the Hums I have been into with the marines and navy were very well armored and able to stop 7.62x54R which the PKM and SVD fire. It can take a lot of abuse b4 the armored steel on them crack, bend, rupture etc...
As for insurgent vehicles I do not think the engine block idea will work because of the engine pr uses... Same idea as y head shots do not instantly put a person in dead dead mode but maybe when PR2 comes out the engine will b so much better...thats what I have heard anyway.

The technicals may be hard to kill, but the ever so squishy meatbags manning the weapons and driving have no such armor. Aim for the driver's side windshield and you'll probably kill the driver and .50 gunner, depending on the range perhaps even the RPK gunner in the front seat.

1. I certainly don't want 1 shot to do that. Just lower the HP of them. I think a full squad of 6 guys firing for 3 seconds...damn that's alot of fire power. no civy car should be able to withstand that. Nor technical.
4.Even when marked they're tripped. I put them farther away from cache in avenues I think the Americans will approach. Ppl still trip them. A sign is needed.
IAJTHOMAS wrote:I'm sure 1. can easily be accomplished given the fact that pushtun speakers on these boards are legion...
Maybe not Pashtun. In fact probably not pashtun. But I do know there is atleast 1 memeber of this community from Afghanistan and knowing that I'm POSITIVE he's more annoyed by Taliban speaking Arabic than I am.
Didn't say it would be possible just brining it up! Taliban speak Dari or Pashto and as such if it's possible would like to see it implimented in game! I mean if you're adding all of these new factions (German forces, IDF, ETC) new languages, I'm guessing, will be introduced (german and Hebrew) that wern't in BF2 originially. So if that's correct the devs have the ability to impliment the Dari or Pashto language in the game!

Chechens don't talk russian too, maybe some, because of USSR. They have Chechen language.

chechnya is part of russia and the only official language is russian, so its compulsory and being learned at school for at least 8 years
there is insane amount of nationalities here, but all of them speak/understand russian, maybe they are not top notch at it sometimes, but again everybody study it at school

In the event that the civi doesn't jump out to avoid restraint, is it possible to restrain them while the are in the drivers seat of the disabled car?
That could be a fun addition to the game actually.

Granted and I think Chechens speaking Russian is fine in game because of this etc. However, in the event of wars you're talking about nationalities pitted against nationalities. Say...Slovenians. I met a good friend in Europe from Slovenia and Slovenians speak a shitload of languages due to the fact that there are only about 2 million native Slovenian speakers.
So using this example. Say we had a Slovenian faction (don't laugh, Slovenia has troops in Afghanistan) then I would certainly expect the Slovenians in the game to speak Slovenian. Just because most of them also speak English as well as other languages (German, Italian, French, sometimes more) doesn't mean that in combat Slovenian soldiers would speak to each other in English. They'd certainly speak in Slovenian. I'd expect the same from Chechens. While in combat they'd speak Chechen, even though I'm sure they speak Russian as well.

In that case I suggest you send some PMs around to a few Devs to let them know.

The DEVs would need someone with studio quality sound equipment and able to record.

There could be some work done but also think about gameplay balances.

Just wait for the Up-armored HUMVEE, when ever it is put in the game.

They do have the mine marker, just press "Q" when you have the trap or mine out and it will be put onto the map. If someone does not look at the map then too bad for them, and don't place them in well used Insurgent paths or you will get teamkills.
