It's all to sexy to be left out in a game like this. When I first heard about the Russian forces community project my first reaction was thought of how wonderful it would be to fly, shoot and just look at this beautiful beast in PR!

Its quite the Helicopter. I would just love to see the Russians doing a assualt on the Chechens with Hinds leading the attack.
Although it may seem that the Mi-28 and Ka-50 may be replacing it, the Mi-24 and its variants hold the majority of the Attack helicopter aircraft in the Russian Forces. And the other factions that could use it as well.

I'd love to see the attack heli that also transports troops.
The Mi-24? That would be great to have an attack chopper/ transport hybrid.

There are certain problems that come with implenting the Mi 24 Hind in PR. Because it's a combination, it can become quite difficult for the crew to do two things. Attack heli's in PR are usually searching for (armoured) targets, right? However, if they are the only helicopter with transport capabilities, that means the crew has to choose between hunting down tanks, or transport infantry. Which one would you pick? During the time that the Mi 24 would be transporting friendlies, it would mean that you lose a lot of support that you cannot simply replace. (like you could with a rifleman) However, if you don't want to transport, because you're too busy hunting down tanks, why bother to implant the Mi 24? I think people will have issues trying to do two things at once.
Further more balancing would be an issue if you would it implant on maps with a layout such as Kashan. (to name something here) Transport is important on a large map, but so is hunting down tanks. If you would have two Mi 24's, they would be either too busy transporting or hunting down tanks. Adding more Mi 24's would be unfair, since then you would have 4 attack helicopters, opposed to two for the other side. Adding a fat cow (or two) would also be unfair, since that means the other side has less transport, and adding more helicopters would only draw more players from the battlefield.
I think it's simply too much for one crew to do, since you're forced to give up one out of two important things. And if the heli crashes, you lost both your attack helicopter, as your transport helicopter. I'd say keep it seperated.
It could be useful on asymmetrical maps like Kozelsk or whatever, but even there you could have the first problem I mentioned.

I doubt the MEC would get it to be honest, even though it would be a more logical replacement for the Mi-28 as the MEC is using older soviet technology.
However in the new IDF v Russians map (speculated, I stress that, read the map loading screens thread) or any new open Russian map it would be appropriate.
Just prey they don't get the superhind or we're all screwed....

well it was created to support infantry squads
i was thinking that it could be used like a stryker you pick up infantry and move inf from point a to b then unload and support it

ye i agree with monkey soldier... also i heard there was a problem with the modeling ... like you cant use the BF2 model because you cant use the transport ability... it will have to be tweaked a bunch before it can be used in PR. If the Hind only had a Gun and Pilot controled missles i think it would be pretty balanced unfair at times yes but an easy way to fix that is to make it slower/ 2nd person guns less acurate... this will give the opposite team a better chance of surviving a Troopdrop + attack

Yes however that would never work in PR, its just too dangerous to risk such an important asset, especially one with HUGE anti armor and anti infantry abilities.
You'd need a big open map as well to accommodate for how fast it can transport troops, on Kozelsk a heli is really impractical simply for the fact that it can go over the whole map in about 20 seconds.

Mi-24V (like in Operation Peacekeaper) would be a real replacment for MEC Mi-28.
