What ever happened to Kashan bunkers having doors?

I know this was a long time ago, but I couldn't find anything on it and I heard someone talking about it. Apparently Kashan bunkers were originally supposed to have moving doors just like in the Chinese main in Barracuda. What ever happened to them?

Well, they never actually had moving doors. The moving doors on Barracuda are on a much smaller scale than it would have to be on a Kashan size bunker, which is probably why it has never been done.

Can you imagine the horrible infantry battles that would ensue from adding that? I leave that to everyone to develop there own opinion weather that would be better or worse.

I'm not sure if that project has been completely shelved or just put on hold for a while.

Yeah, it would be cool, but you would have squads pouring in through the bathrooms of the bunkers only to get mowed down by a full MEC squads of MP5's.

Make them destructible.

Well you can already cut the bunkers into small entraces by putting razor wire ontop and they make a wall of dirt that you can continuously shovel and repair.

That would be part of the plan.

If you've ever played on Qwai or Barracuda and had to attack one of those bunkers even with a destructible door, you can tell when the enemy is outside and then the explosion is just a warning sign that the enemy is coming. Even with lots and lots of smoke the guys inside the bunker can put a lot of fire into the opening, and then there's still a lack of cover if you get through the opening unmolested.

It would add a new level of tactical analysis when attacking the bunkers which are already very easy to defend if the defenders have the slightest understanding of small unit tactics. So the question is if it would over complicate the situation at the bunkers.

Just making them destructible does not just balance out the doors being implemented.

I think having doors would make the bunkers worth holding. Right now infantry in the bunkers are cannon fodder for intelligently crewed tanks, and the only place you can actually hide is the control room area, where you're basically going to die as soon as enemy infantry start grenade spamming you. Even the dirt barriers don't do much against an M1A1 pounding your "bunker", it's more like a very sturdy and spacious tent.

i say add the doors (destructible of course) i mean IRL if you've got a bunker, it's gonna be ahrd to bust into without some smart and coordinated units
