Hello and welcome!

really hope that you enjoy the mod, some few pointers that'll probably help you out early on and remove alot of frustration

1. have a quick glance at the manual whilst you download, it'll give a good outline of what to expect ingame. Also browse the forums for tactics and guides.

2. don't bother too much with vehicles, practice first on a training server (internet or local) to learn the 'physics' of things like tanks, APCs, helicopters and jets.

3. use your mic! essential, if you dont have one you can pick one up for cheap, it will boost gameplay so much.

overall have fun of course and remember that not every round is going to be amazing but you'll still have plenty. Expect to die alot for some random unknown reasons.

i wanna share this video about deviation cos its important to new players to know.
cos theres no swaying animation in aim,so it might be odd when you get your first change to kill someone and you aim is perfect but you still miss.

Do yourself and the squad leader a favor and inform you are new to the game when you join up in a squad. This way SL and other squad members know to help you out more than normally.

Mic is a must have. At least I tend to remove players without a mic from my squad (there are exceptions :)

some advice:
- Read the manual that will tell you alot about the gameplay and how to use the different object in the game
- Do what the squad leader tells you to do, you will be respected for it
- Don't be a commander untill you know the game very well
- Ask questions don't be afraid to there are many people who wil be happy to help, you won't be called a noob unless it for something like how do i fly(i will get to that)
- Vist a trainning server first before you enter a populated server, in trainning servers you can find the following(kashan trainning):
flying practice = there are jets and helicopters that spawn very quickly
vehical practice = there are tanks, jeeps, apc's,bigger apc's, transport trucks and supply trucks,AAV's(anti-air vehical)
infentry practice = a place to avoid really as it is often spawn camped by aircraft, but it contains trucks and a crate to select kits like AA(useful for that situation) and L-AT (light anti tank)

wepons(i spelt it wrong didn't i):
- the most annoying thing is when poeple can't fire correctly, guns in PR have deviation time, this means you have to wait for them to be accurate you do this by standing, crouching, prone and not moving for a short while = 3-4 seconds
- another thing is when people know the basic idea of how to use a complicated gun (or AT) but don't quite know how it works
HAT:these work the same as they do in vBF2 they are not fire and forget you can guide the missile after its been shot by;hold down your trigger button(defualt left click mouse) and move the crosshare SLOWLY to the target.Unlike in vBF2 the enemy has no idea your shooting at them as the warning sign and noise has been removed from all vehicals
Sniper:AVOID!, avoid this kit as if you die you will be spammed messages of hate, often because snipers are not team players, look around the forum useing the Search button located at the top of the forum page.
LAT:This is an annoying one because it is only useful against light armor but unlike the two above it is squad limited not team limited (read manual for info),this takes time to steady and reduce deviation, make sure you practice with this on trainning servers.it is rifle AT uner the kit request icon in game.
AA kit:works the same as normal anit air except takes longer to lock on and only hold one missile instead of the useual 2 in stationary AA placements

the rest should be in the manual if you have any questions please ask me or "almost" any other member in PR and i'm sure they'll help you ethier by sending them a PM(personal message) or asking them ingame (try to avoid asking questions when your in a battle, it'll piss people off)

also everything that everyone has said before me, and don't use important kits (like HAT and sniper kits) before you know exactly how to use them and your good with them(give it 2-3 months, i know it sound long but its really not)

this video is a must:

they should add a just little sway to make aiming looking little bit natural.
swaying ends when cone settles.
just a little reminder that theres something why you miss the shot
little offtopic

Dont go on the training servers that are full the best is to train in a local server since the training servers are like the tard institution of PR where there are no admins, and people just acts tardish.

Training or Deployment?

The most populated training server is Battleforce (UK) which shouldn't be too laggy if you're from the US.

There were 6 full/almost full US deployment servers yesterday, right now there's more people in European servers but that'll change in a few hours.

This mod isn't an "lolololol-UB3R1337DOGFIGHTORZ" mod.

However, on the maps with jets, if you are a good pilot you can dominate the sky.

That being said, I suggest playing as infantry first.

PR is about 50% infantry ground pounding, 30% ground vehicles, 10% choppers, 8% logistics and 2% planes. If you're a big flyboy, especially jet-wise, you might find yourself disappointed since only 2 of PR's maps have jets and I can assure you there's people who have played for years now who will shoot ya down pretty quickly :) Jets have a 20 minute respawn time so when it's gone, it's gone for a while.

Focus on the camaraderie from infantry squads and learning the intricacies of the PR maps, that's where the real fun is. IL2 1946, ARMA2 will be more your thing if you like to spend the majority of your time in planes. Just wanted to give you fair warning :)

PR is kind of a power hog, you may need to turn down your graphics settings. try lowering the overall to medium. if you crash, reset to the defaults and try lowering each setting individualy, while keeping your display mode the same.
