Grenadiers teams as makeshift mortars?

Hello folks, here's an unorthodox idea of mine for PR tactics.

As a means of providing infantry support, Grenadier kits are basically a toned-down and less indirect version of the mortar. Now since project reality does not have squad-level mortars, why not simply substitue in a squad of grenadier-turned-mortars instead? situated in a high position, a "grenadier" squad of 2+ GL's could function as on-call artillery for the team and take grid references from other squads on the ground. here's my basic concept for mortar squad compostion:

1 SL (capabillity to spot and Lase targets for additional fire support and set rally points if GL squad is working far away from supply)

1-2 Rifleman scoped Or Rifleman Specialist (Provide force security and ammunition for GL's, also take GL kit in case of casualities)

2+ Grenadiers (Operate as psuedo-mortars, firing either simultaniously for shock vlaue or alternating for sustained fire)

Of course, the major issue for creating a mortar squad is geting around the 1 grenadier/ squad issue. Team-consented Bending of game mechanics will undoubtably be required. "mortar" squad members would be required to temporarily join up with other squads for the get extra grenade launcher kits, something that would only be done if the entire team has been publically notified and allows it.

Sure, some people might think that this would waste team GL assets, but from my experience, Very rarely are squad grenadiers usefull if the squad is intending to get into any up-close-and-personal firefights and cap the flag , so why not use use them in conjunction (as opposed to piecemeal) at the effective range they excel at?

Comments and complaints anyone?

Just saying, but I'm pretty sure mortars are coming out pretty soon.

Hmm, well that basically kills the idea, doesn't it ;) Ah well, It could probably still function to multiply the level of arty fire and work as something of a medium-close support weapon with greater accuracy than mortars
