hey there, just a quick one, whats better, a geforce n220gt ( 1gb ddr2) or a geforce 9600gt 512mb, ????

how much better are we talking, here are my specs,

gpu: n220gt 1gb ddr2
ram: 4g 800mhz
cpu: intel pentium d cpu 2.80ghz (2 cores)
windows xp,


basically i tried to run battlefield 2142, will everything on highest settings, aa 4, res on 1280x1024, and was getting 22-26 fps, although the game was smooth, the frame rate is ****, if i get a 9600 gt, will that improve much or at all, im running on a dell, so i cant get any card with a massive cooling fan because it wont fit, thanks for the replys!

havent try with bf2 yet, still installing it and stuff.

In my opinion, the best single slot cards are the 8800GT/9800GT and HD4850. I have had them both and used to run them in a **** Dell box. I would go with the 9800GT and not look back. It's not much more money then the 9600GT you are considering and it will run BF2/2142 without a hitch. Just my 2 cents.
