just noticed that the video were the new squad radio was being showing is the map which the russians feture in. So that must mean that the russians are VS the IDF as the player in the video has a tar.

If any mods want this removed incase it breaks rules or somthing go ahead.

EDIT: just becasue he has a TAR dosnt mean it will be IDF.

It is the IDF, they have been coming to PR for a while and its gonna be ready for 0.9

i cant wiat for them , 0.9 could be the best update ever

Well you can see the Israeli flag in the vid mate, and the secret in the other preview showed the Merkava in the same map.

There'll be a Russian map with a carrier (I think) because one of the pics of new Russians there was a BTR in the back ground and it had the Navy emblem on

The video showed IDF v Russia on Beirut. It does seem the russians have a carrier in the top right corner of the map, but it's hard to tell, dbzao didn't show the full map for very long. It might just be an island or something. Time will tell.

There is always the chance that they are just testing those factions on that map. Perhaps problems with the Hamas faction or something? Is Russia vs IDF in Beirut even realistic?

Many of the "wars" in PR isn't realistic at all, however the fighting is quite realistic

yeah, hamas is capable of sea based assault

russia is exporting arms to Lebanon, has other contracts and pretty good relations, we will be just defending innocent people from IDF invaders, thats all

^^and this background is not worse than whatever you will come up with when you try to explain MEC, US vs PLA or how chechens managed to capture an ICBM site(Kozelsk)

when people will stop with this anti-profit questions? there is no gain at all in restricting enemies, it only narrows variants of maps/assets/variety while bringing pretty much nothing except fictional "realism"

In PR v0.9 you will see somewhat "unrealistic" confrontations taking place relative to the current period in history, and it's based on the idea of seeing how it would be if these 2 factions fought each other. PR doesn't have a storyline to follow, so we have the freedom to do this kind of things.
Any more complaints about this will be removed.

Gaza is where IDF vs Hamas, Beirut is IDF vs Russia.

Yeah, I also noticed the flag of the Russian navy on one of the BTRs in the screenshots of new russian desert camo. And when he zoomed out in that vid where he demonstrates the new SL radio and comm, it showed an un-capturable base on top right corner of map, in water.
Maybe a carrier, maybe small island. But looks more like a carrier, although I dont know if russians have skins of their own carriers in game. Since the only one in game is US type carrier.

Okay guys, calm down. It was just a question. I wasn't sure if Russia had troops in Lebanon in real life. I did not voice opposition to the unrealistic conflict, I just questioned if it was realistic. In fact, I'm all for more variety in factions.

I would have expected Hamas to defend the city of Beirut (If they were in this map) from the invading IDF. I'm not some kind of retard who thinks Hamas is a military super power. Give me a little credit.

Perhaps its like World in Conflict and they come off unmarked container ships?

That would be badass, a BTR rolling out of a shipping container.
