my friend bought battlefield 2 game and he is trying now install project reality.
he has patched battlefield to 1.5 version,installed also core,levels and patch.
he has vista.
when he try to click the pr icon or pr.exe in folder,nothing happens.
this is what he gets in pr.txt file.

Error in MovingSplashScreen: --> System.IO.FileNotFoundException: file L:\Ene\Battlefield 2\Battlefield 2\00000000.256 not found

anyone know what that errorcode means?i have tryed google it but i just dont understand.
he can play vanilla with good grapfics
registrys are ok

Usually it's something simple you over-looked.

Some points to be looked at:
- BF2 needs to be patched to 1.41 before applying 1.5 patch.

- You said he installed PR core, levels and patch, but which versions? PR 0.874 Patch is not needed if core and levels were 0.874 full versions.

- When moving stuff from a computer to an another, always use installers, never just copy files that belong to programs.

- You may need to clean up registry a bit to get this fixed up, especially if the Vista in question is 64-bit, as it stores 32-bit program's setting to an uncommon location.

thank for reply.he downloaded those torrentfiles from downloads section.

so those are full and you dont need that patch?

There are four types of downloads on that page:

1. Client (patch)
- Like the page says, this requires the latest BF2 and previous working version of PR as the starting point. No other files are needed.

2. Client (core)
- Requires the latest BF2 as the starting point and Client (levels) to complete the installation.

3. Client (levels)
- Requires the latest BF2 and Client (core) as the starting point.

4. Server (full)
- Needed only by dedicated server admins.

So a regular mortal needs either:
A) Client (patch)
OR
B) Client (core)+Client (levels)
but not both A+B.

If you are still unsure, install Client (core) and Client (levels) but nothing else. You can't go wrong with those.
