It seems to have slipped the developers minds, but the biggest deal in the second half of the 20th Century was the Falklands. Any chance of at least a couple of Falklands maps? I don't care if the Argentinian forces speak English for the sake of simplicity, but I would like to see the conflict included.

Hello and welcome to the Project Reality boards! You bring up a good point, which I must say has been pushed by some of the devs on the team as well. As of right now, we can't make any promises of seeing such a campaign, as we are dealing with the current conflict in Iraq. Further on down the line, depending on how well PR does after we get our feet firmly planted as a BF2 mod, we may just be able to find the time to create a few maps and a few of the units the British units used in the 1980s. This again as yet is not currently an option nor are any maps/models on the drawing board (sadly), so unfortunetly I have to tell you there is little to no hope of the possibility that you'll be ripping it up in a Challenger 1 on the plains of Argentina with Sea Harriers screaming by overhead anytime soon. :( :?

But please be sure to check back with us as we continue our work to bring all of our fans the needed changes they are eager to see from the BF2 engine :D ; and who knows maybe I'm just running my mouth now, and you may yet get to see some action in the Falklands. Stick around. 8)

Ummm... have you heard of Vietnam?

I guess he was reffering to the biggest deal of the last half century of the UK. I guess you just remember your own country's wars a lot better than other country's wars. If you had asked me to list all the wars in the last half century I would have probably skipped the Falklands because the U.S. wasn't involved.

Why would you make a Viet mod when there is BFV. I believe that was his thinking.

Sorry, maybe I should have been clearer. I actually got attracted to the mod because it had been advertised as including the previously ignored British troops. Hence my reference to the Falklands.

And to defend my point a little more, it was in fact an invasion of Sovereign turf by a foreign enemy, as opposed to the US or UK Forces sticking their noses in other peoples business

Please don't anyone take any offence over that last comment. Thats my politics and not a dig at anyone.

And being British kinda puts me in the minority here :o ops:

Id say vietnam was definetly a nose in anothers buisness. That, is another conversation altogether though.

*pour gas can and lights matches*
Let the flame wars begin!

Back on topic, it would be pretty cool to see the Brits and Argo's go at it in game since I can't recall any game having that as a part of it. Or since it's based around present technology and/or stuff about to go into production a ficticious conflict very similar to that can be created.

Just to end the subject...anyone who might be interested in British engagements since WWII might be interested in an excellent website.

The truth has been deemed "politically incorrect" on a few occassions which has given the site a bit of a stormy history.

My father was in the Royal Air Force in the 50's and so I respect a site that tells it as it was and could be verified by a trusted source. (The previous Middle East conflict)

I'll post a link to the Falklands section for anyone interested...(Careful your modellers dont start working on that beautiful Vulcan bomber)

Funny you bring up the Syrians. The last time they got into a fight was with Israel in Lebanon roughly around the time the Falklands War occured. The Bekaa Valley incident was one of the most lopsided aerial engagements in history.
