What are the differences between the btr-60 and the btr-80 in PR?
Does the btr-80 have better armor/gun?
More speed?

Or is it just a better looking apc?
I am confused

higher elevation angles for gun/MG, smoke launchers, better armour, firing ports, side doors, better mass/engine power ratio

first 2 points for sure featured in PR, dunno about others

well they have different types of BTR-60 and BTR-80

BTR-80 is newer and is more modernized

doesn't the BTR 80 have a 20mm gun?

The BTR-80A has a 30mm-cannon. Normal BTR-80 has 14,5 mm.

14.5mm or 30mm in case of BTR-80A, there is also module with 23mm, but its not accepted/produced in mass numbers

The current version has only the BTR-60, and I believe that 0.9 will replace it with the BTR-80. The OP was wanting to know what difference it would make in game.

The Russians have only few BTR-90s in service.

But perhaps you meant to say that you'd like to see BTR-60 for MEC and BTR-80 for Russians? I think that's reasonable.

imo BTR-80 is very perspective chassis for PR, because it offers lots opportunities to fit different maps in different roles, it has lots of combat module modifications, except usual 14.5 and 30mm, which could fit MEC for example




additional armour kits


slat-armour upgrade


bunch of other variants like command, artillery variant etc
ontop of that Ukraine also offers some mods


and this summer BTR-82 and 82A supposed to enter production/modernization for 80 series

The APC they have now is fine, just as long as some of its bugs are fixed.

Well i remember i said they Russians should get BTR-82/A and someone said they are going to get new BTR-90s soon and BTR-82s are to fill the time gap

also what is the difference between BTR-82 and BTr-82A i notices BTR-82A has some kind of a radio jamming device or something like that

difference is only the gun calibre in the same way like between 80 and 80A

I was under the impression that the BTR-60 was going to stay with the MEC, while the BTR-80 would be used exclusivly by the Russian Forces. I mean, why else would they go throught the trouble of making 2 different models?

BTR-60 might get taken out if bugs are not fixed
