Mumble Crash -_-

Hello, I didn't really know where to put this, so I suppose PR tech support forum is best place even though its not exactly related to Mumble.

Whenever I start mumble (.05 Beta), and try to connect to any server at all, it gives me the classic "Debug/Send Error Report/ Don't Send" crash message. No matter what when I try to join a server with mumble it just boom crash me. Restarting and reinstalling did not have any effect.

I have Media Center Edition XP SP3

Thanks.

Yes there is a thing called QWAVE which is enabled on the Windows XP media edition. You need to disable it.

Sorry, I didn't see this post earlier.

Mumble's settings dialog doesn't like Windows 7's visual themes and crashes every time I try to save my settings. If I disable visual themes on the shortcut's compatibility tab, everything works fine.

Edit:
Fixed. I noticed that there is several styles available at Mumble's user interface settings. In order to fix the crashing problem, the style had to be changed from System default to Windows Vista. Thus no compatibility settings are needed.

I don't know what QWAVE is. I googled on how to disable it but got no results.

I have XP so the visual thing with windows 7 mentioned would not apply for me.

Anyone know how to disable this QWAVE thing? And if what it does is important and would be bad if I disabled it?

Search in this forum, because someone had exactly the same problem before and they sorted it. I dont know how you disable it I am afraid , but I know that its not a problem to do so. All it is is a networking protocol for Windows Media that prioritizes delivery of video and audio. Video and Audio work fine without it.

XP is better than Vista, you got this administrator bullshit on Vista which ****s up everything if you forget to run programs as Admin...
