Old Routers ftl :(

Ok, my router isn't on Port forward, and I need to open the port for utorrent so my Kb/S can get above 10.

When I get on the Router settings page I have on the bar on the left the following options:
LAN Setup:
LAN Settings
DHCP Client List

Internet WAN:
Connection Type
DNS

Firewall:
Application Gateways
Virtual Servers
Client IP Filters
MAC Address Filtering
DMZ
WAN Ping Blocking
Security Log

Utilities:
Restart Router
Restore Factory Default
Save/Backup Settings
Restore Previous Settings
Firmware Update
System Settings

So far the only thing with ports in them are Virtual Servers and Application gateways. Application gateways asks for Public Ports & a trigger port and Virtual Servers asks for LAN ports and Public ports.

I need to be able to open a Port (I know which one UTorrent uses) so that I can Dl v0.9 ;)

If you need more Info just ask and I'll find out ;)

Can you take a screen of Application gateways?

you can put your computer's IP on the DMZ, which will open all the router's ports to that particular computer.

However that does make you less secure, so if you don't regularly monitor your computer's own defences, don't do it.

I have the same router as you

go to virtual servers

pop in all the values

e.g. I'm using 21240 for my torrent

Code: Select all

External Port Start External Port End Protocol Internal Port Start Internal Port End
21240 21240 21240 21240
I'm not sure about protocol, so just make 2 versions, once TCP and one UDP I guess

i don't recommend putting your comp in DMZ, it's beyond unsafe!

if you do it revert after downloading!
