Hello!
I have some problems my new Xonar DX card. The sound seem to lag and stay behind me from time to time.
I would really really appreciate if people that use the Xonar DX or DX2 card to show me their audio settings, both in PR and on Xonar software. Do you use the Dolby Headphone feature ect.
I would also like to know how you can prevent the sound to lower, when somebody is using voip ingame ?
Thanks !

As far as I'm aware gamers tend to stay away from Xonar.
The simple version (IIRC) is:
Xonar + EAX (3 and up or 4 and up) = Steaming pile of poo.

I had an Xonar for a short while a year or so ago (in fact I still have it sitting in a box some where) and found it to be simply rubbish, epically with BF2/PR.
There is a topic somewhere around here on it.

This is a hardcoded feature of BF2 I'm afraid.

I too saw a post somewhere (regarding Xonar's and their gaming capabilties).
Most people I have spoken to say that the problem with Xonars is that they are not designed for Gaming, and to get that perfected Gaming audio requires quite a bit of tweaking on the card.
If you want a Sound Card that really provides nigh-unbeatable Audio quality in and out of games, plus it's fantastic compatability with BF2/PR2, I would go for a Creative X-fi Xtreme Gamer sound card. It's a little more expensive than the Xonar's but you've got the gurantee that it wont be bogged with the Gaming audio problems Xonars have.
I use a X-fi Xtreme Gamer sound card with my rig and I have not been dissapointed At all.
If I were you, I would return the card if posssible (Your allowed to return the product you bought within 7?(clarification) days for any reason you like as long as it's in working order) Not sure on the process though.. but I would do that and get a X-fi Xtreme Gamer sound card.
If you were only wanting a Sound Card for Music.. I'd say stick with the Xonar.

Thank you all for the answers.
I will try to find that thread about Xonar, but any help finding it will be appreciated.
I only experience the problem with BF2/PR (which is the only old game I play) I had no problem with the soundcard with games as Call of Duty 4 and newer games.
I turned off the Dolby headphone function on my soundcard and that made it work well with PR/BF2. I wont use the card to it max with an older game like BF2, but I still get alot clearler sound with it then with the soundcard on the motherboard.
