CTD ON Game Load up

As Title says :
Boot game and get the splash screen, flickers as if it's opening the game, after a few seconds more of flickering whacks me back to the desktop.
Tried running as Administrator, Compability Modes etc.
Q6660 2.4ghz
2gb Ram
8800 GT 512mb
Vista 32bit
Help much appreciated,
Cheers,
Shavid.
Edit:
All right, decided to fully reinstall everything. Removed my entire Bf2 Folder and uninstalled everything from the control panel. I then reinstalled Bf2. Patched to 1.41 and then to 1.5. I then installed both Part 1 and Part 2 of Project Reality 0.9 and can now boot fine - Note Didn't have to use 'Run As administrator mode' or 'Compability with XXX' Mode.
Hope this helps anyone with the same problem.

Install it as an administrator (in otherwords from an administrator account) ?
Also ... many people have been experiencing problems when they have only 2GB in their systems. The new patched BF2 1.5 allows more than 2GB to be used, but it seems there may not be any safety checks for people who have ONLY 2GB.

So you are saying that, if players PC has RAM 2GB or less game won't load or start properly?

I have this same problem, click join server after loading and I see the game for anywhere from 1-5 seconds then it just freezes and I have to restart my computer.
XP w/ 4GB ram.

Tried running as Administrator for install and launch etc = No Luck
Also as someone suggested to me added "+restart 1" to my shortcut also = No Luck
Interesting about the 2gb Issue Twisted, though I've managed to run all previous versions of .9 without any problems what so ever at all, so i would have thought this would.
Would try a full bf2 re-install sadly, can't find my Bf2 Disk.
Any other suggestions greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Shavid

MMm don't think so? Currently running with the policy of turning my house upside down trying to look for it.

It doesn't really work, Ancient proved it IIRC.

This is stating to p%*& me off lol.
Costing me mega internet usage to download this mod ( which I love ) and now it WONT EVEN LOAD UP???
Why did you change it so it stops working ? why don't you make the game work for all ?
I HAVE DONE THE FOLLOWING.
VISTA - RAN AS ADMINISTRATOR and XP mode.
Re-installed bf2 1.41-1.5 patch then installed this new 3 part patch and it wont even get past the first page.
I am about try load bf2 first and see how it goes. ( heard it works )
