Hey guys, I know a lot of you, including myself are having problems being kicked by punkbuster, or CTD all the time. Well thanks to S.Proffit, I may have a temporary fix. Worked for me and 2 other people. Worked for me on XP 32 bit, and two friends on Vista 32 bit.
Step 1:
Go to your BF2 game folder and delete the punkbuster file, should say PB.
Step 2:
Go to control panel, add/remove programs, and uninstall PB Services.
Step 3:
Download pbsvc.exe from this link
http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe
Step 4:
Install punkbuster
Step 5:
Install pbsetup.exe from here
PunkBuster Online Countermeasures
and update punkbuster
Step 6:
Download battlefield cleaner from here
Download Battlefield Cleaner (v2)
and clean all the caches.
Step 7:
Restart your PC
Step 8:
Start up PR and go to graphics settings, change all settings to medium.
Step 9:
Go to audio settings and change audio from software to hardware
Step 10:
Enjoy not being kicked or crashing to desktop! (Hopefully)
Thanks and I hope it works,
Brick

Try just turning textures down to medium. I play on all high too and I just turned textures down to medium and no more CTD.

No problem guys, spread the word! That way we can get more players in game and not complaining on the support forums lol.

Well you'll probably be able to once they put a new patch out that fixes most of the problems. But for now you need to keep the settings at medium. Or at least textures.

Are you talking to me? Because I really do need an upgrade from my Geforce 8500 GT. I couldn't even run it on high in .87.

Not a problem with my processor either, mines capable of supporting that.
Hey you know what it's like in Seattle today???
