Dome Of Death for jets?

Am I the only one who finds it annoying to fly jets with the dome of death reaching out all the way to F3 on Silent Eagle as US`?

The main thing is that the time, has been set down to 8 seconds... 4km maps are fine to fly jets on but the fear of bleeding out of the jet is quite horrifying :sad:

seriously, I'm thinking that the DoD is there for a reason.

I think it should be gone. Admins can just put in place rules to not attack the main flag. It worked fine on Kashan. If Admins cant enforce their rules its not a good server

Yes it is, but 8 seconds is just scary for any one flying more than 2000 kmh

I have noticed that the new domes of death are absolutely HUEG. I noticed the one on archer reaches out to 400m or so now. So you can't even monitor troop movements anymore! That goes for other maps too. Gaza, you set foot outside the wall, and you are in a 9 second dome of death. Outrageous!
Then, on the new Taliban map, there isnt a dome of death. We walked right into their base.

Attacks on the main base should be an acceptable occurrence on Insurgency. But now it is like you even look in that direction you get punished for it. Of course the dome of death for the INS mains are small. The dome doesn't even seem to start until you are actually ON the spawn location.

Lashkar valley doesn't even have a DoD, insurgents were just strolling into our main and shooting us while we were getting kits, then a technical drove in and killed our Lynx :(

A misspeak I think.

You're referring to the Out of Bounds timer, which surprised me as well on Silent Eagle, considering the strange approach vectors one needs to take.

The Dome of Death is the circle surrounding a flag to prevent enemies from entering it.

Lectro as i see you're clearly a AAS fan, mostly now the PR players in General, except since .9 are insurgency lovers. I am also a AAS fan so yeah.
You should try out other maps like the insurgency ones to add to this but I'l just say it my self

The DoD's are terrible now. If a server wants no base rape let em enforce the rule.
Now in that one taliban map, forget the name, was told by some one in a server about it but like some one else said they can walk right into the main base. BUT the force part of it is that you select a Rally based spawn so they can knife it and the whole team can;t spawn any more unless the build a fob but fobs are dangerous compaired to main bases so it's not a good trade off.

Some one else also said that you get punished for looking at there main. That is beyond realism because in real life there is absolutly nothing stopping you from spying on you're enemys troop movement. It's almost as if where playing a card game now compaired to R.U.S.E ( the new RTS game ) where before you could spy on you're enemy with a risk now you can't.

I also find closing the feed back section is extremly counter productive and makes me wanna rage about the things that really need to be said about .9 and need to be changed before the next patch.

I was not serious for getting punished for looking at the main.
I will use archer as an example. You used to be able to get up fairly close to it, then sit on a ridge and look into the base.
I tried that in .9 and I couldnt even get close enough to see anything without getting the death warning.
Then on the new Taliban map, there is no Dome of Death...how did that get by the Devs?
I know Blufor players complain a lot...but really, they are not the ones being shot at by tanks.

Also, I would of like to see another standard insurgency map. Taliban/Hamas/Militia are fun. But INS is a challenge! No selecting kits, Just you, and soem friends with rifles. Your only real defense from vehicles is the RKG (if blufor gets close enough to you, they deserve it), and the RPG. The RPG is very innaccurate too. Not to mention it doesnt really do much damage.
Then the IED damage has been toned down as well. Sorry off topic.

There shouldn't be DoD's that should be a server's choice about base-raping.

Especially on insurgency, its so hard to make the OMG-Truck useful. You have to explode prematurely to avoid being killed when driving into the main base.

Allied UAVs should be able to see that though, at least. Not to mention the ever present AR on the mountain side, and the fixed MGs at the front.
I doubt there will even be time to get a bomb car or truck in there now.

On maps liek Korengal and Western falluga I could understand moving the base to help avoid the CONSTANT base rape though.
On the server i play on, base rape is allowed on the INS maps. It is just part of that game type. The INS set up ambushes. Sometimes those are right outside the base.

Its easy to get past the dome of death any way. Was tested on kabala beofre 0.9 and we got 3 bomb cars into main with out dying theory would work for all dome of death. As for techs camping choppers taking off then send a squad to take out the techs before they take off.

back on topic.if some one was to bomb main Id be happy to admin it if it mean if i was flying I could do a turn and get back on the map in more than 8 seconds.

You can easily get disoriantated especially during combat... You wont have the ability to get out fast if your landing at 40% Throttle, evading a missile lock, or just getting chased by something

he is right!!
I mean when you are in a jet going so fast some times you might lose directions, and 8 seconds is basicly not enough to know where are you heading to, Turn around and get out of the Dome of Death.
