Modifying the mod files?

I am totally unable to launch PR from the .exe file. However, launching other mods and old versions of PR, (up to 0.85) from inside BF 2 works perfectly. How can I modify the mod files so that I can once again run PR from inside BF2? I have tried all kinds of shortcut suggestions posted here, and it would be much, much easier to just launch PR from inside BF2. If anyone is willing to do the work for me and make the folder shells available that would be great, but I really only need to know how to do it.

What path do you have for pr.exe?
Should be with Vista:
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe
With XP:
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe
I just can't get it to work, I've tried almost everything posted here.
Like I said, with the old system, things worked perfectly. In fact, even now I can get to the mod screen, through BF2, but there is just the notice that I should quit and launch the pr.exe file.
This problem isn't limited to my PC though, I've been able to run BF2 and all its mods on my Mac through Cider. I was able to install the mod on my mac with Crossover, so the installer exe's were good, its just the mod file itself.
How can I run PR from Battlefield?

It seems like a lot of people are having this problem. How can we go back to the old system?>

You can not launch PR from BF2's mod screen. You must launch from pr.exe, or a desktop shortcut pointing to pr.exe. Launching from BF2's mod screen does not use pr.exe.

Yes, I know it can't right now, but
only because the Devs made it that way, previous versions
could be launched from BF2's mod screen.
I would just like to know how I could create a workaround (or if someone is willing to assist me in doing so) to end all the problems people such as myself are having with the .exe launching.
I am more than willing to shuffle files so that I can launch single and multiplayer from inside battlefield (I don't even need an options screen!)

It's intended for there NOT to be a work around

. Just launch from desktop shortcuts, the start menu shortcuts, or directly from pr.exe. I don't see what point there is in loading BF2, logging in, going to mods menu, clicking PR, quitting BF2, opening PR, logging in. Takes much longer...

You may just need to get rid of older versions.
The most common causes of CTD are:
Failure to uninstall any previously installed versions of PR.
This can easily be done via the Windows Control Panel
'Add and Remove Programs' icon, under "Project Reality 0.x".*,
then delete the PR folder to remove any leftover files.
Don't forget to delete the desktop short as well.
PRv.909 uses 2 installers. You must install both 'Part 1' and 'Part 2'.
It is recommended that you restart your system after you install/uninstall programs
to ensure all installed components, files and registry entries are correctly installed or removed.
Once that's done check your shortcuts 'target' window. You should see:
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe"
Under that you should see the 'start in' window.
You should see:
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr"
Hopefully you can start now, if not:
OK
Some other things you can try before you uninstall/reinstall.
Backup your BF2 folder that's inside your documents folder. Once you have a backup delete the original from your documents folder.
Try starting PR from your PR shortcut
a new default folder is created
link to your online account.
If all goes well (CTD gone) all you have to do to get your custom settings back is copy your 'control' file from your backup to the new profile folder.
path:
C:\Users\your user name here\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002
note: you may not have a 0002 folder so use 0001
Hope it helps
