I changed my memory speed back to ddr2 800, and now it takes at least 5 minutes for the videos/ splash screen to load. Anybody? It's OCZ ddr2 800, and my mobo had it turned down for some reason.

Run battlefield cleaner to flush out your video cache files.
Defrag you HD, run error test.
How much ram do you have?

Add this text string to your shortcuts 'target' window:
start +widescreen 1 +szx 1600 +szy 1200 +restart +playerName XXXX+playerPassword XXXX

So it looks like this in Vista (XP users can lose the (x86) ):
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" start +widescreen 1 +szx 1600 +szy 1200 +restart +playerName XXXX+playerPassword XXXX

Replace the XXXX with your info. This will skip the video intro and take you strait to the browser server window.
fullscreen 1 +szx 1024 +szy768
If you don't have widescreen

Good luck

when your mobo turns it down it might be because it detected memory corruption which means your ram might be broken - i suggest you scan your ram for defects (use Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool or a linux live-cd or memtest.exe - Greatis Software)

Did you try the PR .8 before .9 after doing those changes to your mem? In .9 the map loads have for some reason gone very long for lot of people, for me too.
