Try turning off AA, and clear your BF2 cache.

clearing bf2 cache with bf2cleaner (orwhatever its called) fixed this for me

As a note, this happened to me in Yamalia. I alt-tabbed in and out of the game, and everything came back.

I have no idea what caused it, but it's the only time it's happened in 20-30 hours of gameplay since .9 came out, and it never happened in .8.
