I just want to know who are the snipers and where do you play because i get bored having no spotter or sniper.I am playing on CIA and TG. I want to know if you like to operate in sniper/spotter team because every time i create a snip/spot squad a noob come, take a marksman and go away with it or another sniper come in.
Thanks
Sorry for my english

I imagine most snipers work within an infantry squad? well my squad sniper does... Am I right in thinking you can only have one sniper & spotter per 6 man squad?

There is no spotter class, people just use a SL or medic or something. Sniper is only requestable once per squad, and it can be requested by 2 or more people with a total of 2 snipers.
@OP most snipers i know work with friends, they either dont like or trust other people or they just want to have fun with their friends.

IMO, snipers are for kids, that's why I don't take them... If you're not a kid, remember, every time you pick a sniper kit, you made a kid cry.
Very very rare, situation comes when having a good sniper (in a different squad) would be useful, but of course, it's not there...
Like, if you're calling for a CAS attack on FoB with AA placement manned - if you have a good sniper to headshoot that guy just before the hydra-huey moves in, that's something a sniper can do great... thou, probably your AR can do it just the same...
Or, if an APC filled with inf is making a move over open ground, one sniper shot on a HAT can save the day... thou, your AR can probably do it...
Rounds when I felt victory/defeat was influenced by a sniper are... well I remember ONE round on Ejod... hm... that's about it... I think...

Snipers never make a game worse, they can just be useless if they are not very good. My team sniper actually finds sniping really boring but I make him do it anyway because he is very good at it... I think he gets jealious because all he hears over comms is me and my squad in firefights while he is tasked with sitting on a high rise taking out enemies out across the water at the docks(beirut) as they spawn on an FB.

I am not a kid...
Althought I like sniping on certain maps (They are currently removed)
My ingame name is =[BF]= Rudy_PR so you might find me sometimes either flying or sniping or tank gunning...
Anyway I do play on TG sometimes althought I have pretty high ping of 220 there! But still, I like the teamwork there!

Snipers are hardly for kids if used properly can be a great addition to squad/team.

I do take the Sniper/Recon role from time to time, mostly on Insurgency maps (whore out and rape Caches). Indeed, it does take skill and the minute that child can't make the shot, cause hes standing and believes no-scoping is possible at 500 meters, he'll rage. Normally, I will snipe with a willing, and skilled partner that I know, and we both get Sniper kits. (Second guy goes into another squad and asks nicely if he/she can take a sniper kit.) Then we both end up sniping and spotting for each other.

Seriously, snipers aren't for kids, Especially in PR as they Require patience and maturity to be used effectively.
And Kids lack for all the things listed above.

....blahblahblah....
.9 sniper is very good imo
I plan on trying out a new 2 squad layout when I get back from Italy
Sq1
Officer
Medic
Grenadier
Rifleman Irons
Rifleman Specialist Irons
AR
Sq2
Officer
Medic
Marksman
Sniper
HAT
Rifleman
or something to that effect, the idea being that Sq1 is up close and personal, sq2 is back providing firesupport
add 2 APCs to teh mix, and win shall occur in abundance,
Ill be on TG saturday late, so hope to catch you there mate if you wanna try it out.

Snipers can be good , if used properly but 99.99% of the time it isnt. ive been sniping recently and sniped like a whore on qwai last night on RT. stopped an attack across land bridge, reported a squad in a boat that got owned by heli , reported 2 squads sneaking via mine which team didnt know about and countered. and took out 2 firebases before logging off. i only ever have a spotter if i know them tho as i find it hard enough to keep pubs focused during a normally squad let alone when sniping.

A good sniper team can be extremely helpful. If they know what they are doing the can provide good intel on enemy movement and positions. They can stop a WHOLE squad from flanking, defend an object from far, call in artillary. Being able to take out enemy snipers/HAT/marksmen/AR/LAT from >400 meters away is amazingly helpful for the whole team.
I remember being a sniper on Al Kufrah Oilfields, having a friend on skype spotting for me. Round ended with about 30 kills for us, 0 deaths. We took out snipers, LATs and HATs. Even took out a dude from maximum viewing distance (about 700m methinks). All this while only taking fire once. Quick retreat and reposition, didn't even use our patches.
However, I find that spotting for a sniper is even more entertaining than being the sniper.

But then again, if they're accompanied by an SL, they sort of can.

But then again, the main discussion here is not having good spotters...
If you do have a SL with you problem solved yes. Or request someone else to mark the target.

Huh? Snipers are for kids? No, kiddies usually like running n gunning. Being a sniper and playing the role
properly actually takes A LOT of patience, time, and very slow meticulous game play which kiddies aren't very much into. A sniper spends most of his time moving to a spot, marking targets for his teams, and gathering intel (kills are secondary). Why ppl continue to hate on snipers is beyond me. Yes, there are snipers who abuse the kit and are useless with it, but that goes for any class. I can not explain the amount of times the sniper in my clan has saved my squads a$$ and just how valuable the kit can be if it's in the right hands.
And that one round on EJOD you mentioned...did u determine he influenced the game b/c of the number of kills he got? What about all the other rounds where your team gathered intel from a sniper who located a cache or enemy FOB? Kills are not the primary job of a sniper squad. They are one of the kits that
normally stay behind the scenes and who can have a heavy influence on the success of their team on the battlefield. I'm not flaming anyone, just trying to shed some light on a commonly misunderstood kit.
OP, sometimes we play on the CIA & TG servers, keep an eye out for S6! tags. If we already have a sniper, you can always spot for him. If I'm the only S6! member on the server, I'll spot for you any day man. XFire: Kasper13

Remember LONG LONG deviation. Make sure it is on deployed mode. Wait 8 seconds and fire.
Also you normally would sit far from the hit of the battle. Watchout for counter-snipers and other snipers, and report intel to your team. Afterall, that's your main duty. Later, killing SLs, AA gunners, MGs, HATs... everything. But don't get trigger happy.
