I keep getting this message everytime i try to log into PR.


You must use "pr.exe" to run Project Reality.

Please update your shortcuts as required.

Example:

'C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe'

instead of:

'C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield2\bf2.exe'


Anyone else experience this problem as well? I've checked my shortcut and it already has what it tells me to type in the properties tab.... so I'm pretty much clueless. I've also uploaded 2 pictures to show what I mean.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled BF2 and PR in this order BF2 -> Patch 1.41 -> Patch 1.50 -> Punkbuster -> PR Part 1 -> PR Part 2. Reinstalling the game didnt fix the pr.exe problem.

Running the game as an admin?

I'm running it as an administrator, i've deleted the BF2 Folder in My Documents, I've checked the shortcut's path i don't know how many times. It's still giving me the same message whenever I start up Project Reality. It's a real big shame I can't find a solution because I was looking forward to playing PR again. Anyone else having this problem?

I just uninstalled everything (BF2 and PR), turned off UAC for Vista, restarted computer, and reinstalled everything again in the same order as in the above post and it didnt solve anything.

that really is a schame because as from what I see you are doing it by the book - however lets get into detail

download and run "Process Explorer" Process Explorer
start pr and make a screen shot of the processes (esp. bf2.exe and pr.exe)
please also provide the "command line" PE reports for each of the 2 processes (screen shot of properties' "image"-tab [make sure to scale the properties window to show the full line])
