when i load a map, at the middle of the loading it crashes to desktop..

some times im lucky and it doesnt happens, but 90% of the times it happens

i never played 2 rounds in sequence (at least on 0.9 version of PR)

it doesnt help.. even if i put the textures to 'low' it still crush

why the hell you guys killed project reality ? 0.87 was great.. only becouse of this stupid 0.9 version i cant play without to stub my comp 3 times..

Do you really think, anyone is willing to help you out now????

For 1000s of players 0.9 works without crashing every map and you are not even giving infos on your issue...

You are not even telling IF or WHAT you tried already...

And you are now blaming the PR Team and the version?

Sorry, but there are enough threads here with hints and tips you could try first.
For me, I have some ideas what it could be, but I am not willing anymore to help you...

One question: If version 0.9 is stupid, why you wanna play it????

Same has happend to me + crashing in rounds as well tried everything in this section for win7 no luck so had to take the consequence and uninstall BF2 + PR no more PR makes me sad

Chubben, did you maybe try to download/install the PR files again?

when looking for solutions you should also consider fixes that are not exactly for your OS and try them anyways - especially with Vista tips a lot of them work for Win7 as well

as of what i have seen
80% of the time someone posts here he could have avoided that mistake by installing the right way
19% of the time that person could have found the answer him/herself
1% of the time its an acutal problem with his system that needs a custom solution
and less then 1% of that actually is a bug
(raw estimates by me - I am reading alot of posts here...)

I've been playing on Project Reality servers for a long time and POE2 before that. I have never had the problem of getting bounced to the desktop repeatedly, until .9 was introduced. My computer is:

Windows 7 32-bit OS
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz 2.39 GHz
Installed Memory: 4.00 GB
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX

The biggest problem is probably my inability to actually understand many of the suggestions offered in the forums. I am not computer literate (well, not in your league) but would like to know more about how to fix the problem. For what it's worth, it doesn't happen often (if at all) on the older maps. Only the new ones. It happens most often when there is a material change in scenery--exiting vehicles, giving up, spawning in, etc.

It sounds like a memory allocation error to me. Increase your virtual memory to 1.5x your ram. If that doesn't work, this fix may helphttps://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr-support/39649-i-found-fix-memory-dll-error-vista-32-64-bit-users.html. Be aware that the PR devs are currently trying to fix .9's problems.

I would also suggest you try what Rusty posted. What you maybe could try first (if not already done so) because it will take less time than fixing the bf2.exe:
- newer / other driver for your graphics card
- textures already set to medium or less?

some of my mates had a similar issue but without crash, everytime they spawned/exited vehicles/all that "changes the field of view" they got "lags" or stuck up for a short time and after setting textures down and/or updated graphics drivers / shaders all went fine. If that won't work I highly recommend the fix Rusty posted.

I really appreciate all the assistance. I'll try Rusty's suggestions and report back. I get no error messages at all, I just get knocked back to the desktop. Occasionally, I hear a weird ping when a (newer) map is loading and then the loading process freezes. In order to get things moving again, I use the tried and true method of hitting the Restart Button.

Rusty, the increase of the virtual memory has improved things a lot. Thanks. Still had a couple of bumps back to the desktop, but nothing like before the fix.

reboot,redownload,reinstall,desible all progrems,desible firewall,desible every antivirus,run as administrator, what els i can do?
