Is it possible to install windows xp 64bit without booting from disk?
My CD/DVD reader broke right before I was going to install windows xp 64bit. I got everything ready on my PC but I since my reader is broken I dont know what to do. I currently have windows7 32bit.

Is there a way to install windows xp 64bit without actually booting from cd?
Can I boot it from anything else? like a usb memory?

The other question is this:

I am installing a game but when i press the install.exe file the pc works for some seconds and then nothing happends. Really frustrating. I try running as admin and stuff but still doesnt work.

Not sure about Windows XP, but I've installed Windows 7 a couple of times already using Daemon tools.

maybe if you could extract that disk image on a usb stick and make it bootable
but else i guess what dune said - however i believe there were multiple reboots upon xp install which makes me think that deamon tools might not suffice here - but its worth a try

why are you installing it in the first place?
if you are doing it to get more ram to work i might have good (old) news for you:
Physical Address Extension - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

as for the installer not appearing:
deactivate UAC (pretty drastic)
also try to alt-tab to the installer.exe

pr faq might apply too
Q: I cannot run the installer, it just hangs.

A: If you are running Windows Vista, try disabling User Account Control (UAC). You can also try disabling your anti-virus protection, and any other program that may be interfering with the launch of the installer. If this doesn't help, it may be a corrupted download. You can try fixing the corrupt sectors by using the torrent and pointing the save location to the corrupted installer, saving you having to download the entire file again.
