[0909] LAV3 tendancies to roll over

The LAV3's have a very high tendancy to roll over, its not that major but i was playing with a friend who is a very experienced APC driver on operation archer and he flipped the thing twice, you should have heard him on skype, he was pissed as was I.

Its not a major issue but we flipped 2 APCs and wasted them. before anyone flames back saying that hes a noob driver, hes not, the LAV3s centre of gravity is way too high

Steps to reproduce - just drive the LAV3 up and around the hills on archer i guess

I also dont have "photo or video evidence" but i don't feel the need to screenshot an upside down apc

I agree. This thing tips over like it's nothing, I rolled one the first time on archer haha.

Also BRDM... that thing flips like nothing...

Al vehicles need to be reworked tbh...

lol i flipped the brdm on its side 4 times in a game (same one too) but i always managed to get it back on its wheels. But your right, I make some very small turns and it starts going over.

Think the LAV3 also tends to pull to the right. Unless the grass on Yamalia just makes it seem that way.

The LAV-III seems like its suspension is that of a SUV sometimes. Its not easy at all to maneuver, instead it should have physics much like, if not the same as the LAV-25.

The BRDM on the other hand, was said to be faster on ground, but I think this has caused slight problems. Try getting up to speed, then slalom. The thing will flip over turning at near full speed on a normal slope.

thanks for reporting, the LAV3 will get a revision same as BRDM2.

the thing is that it is not that easy to change this specific vehicle issue (point of mass). it requires a reexport of the vehicle + some extra coding.

in the meanwhile you will simply have to turn down your speed when turning,...and even its not that userfriendly, we are not here at Need for Speed :)

Also the Canadian car seems to have the opposite problem, I've almost flipped that thing sideways and it like stands back up

I wouldn't mind of the BRDM-2 and all of its variants were put back to their original versions if nothing better can be done. Atleast then you could geuss when it would flip like on a hill or something, not as random as it is now.

Its a Mercedes.... Its everything-proof until it breaks.

TBH, it probably is high mounted turret.

Why not just give the same physics for the LAV-25 to the LAV-3? Its practically the same the vehicle. Yet one flips faster than a BRDM and the other is nearly impossible.

Yeah, I've experienced that twice while driving. Not realistic, but I'm not complaining yet

I. Slightly OT:

http://defensetech.org/2005/11/26/canadian-lav-3-rolls-in-afghanistan/

Not to sound disrespectful of the Canadian Military or anything but it happens IRL too.

II. The "inherent tippiness" of this vehicle in game needs to be slightly reduced.
