Radio Volume and quality

Is there a way I can mod on my own all of the canned radio messages in this game to:
1) Lower their volumes in contrast to other sound effects
2) Make them sound a little more like they are coming from a radio
3) Change them so they come out of the center channel or front speakers only instead of they 360 degree sound they do now (for me on my XFI Ultra XtremeGamer 7.1 setup).
I find them too loud. When I want to turn up the volume for the battle sound effects, I personally dont like how the radio chatter goes up as well and is so loud. Also, it sounds a little too clear for my liking.
I have some skills and gear/software to mod the sounds but need direction on if this is possible and where these sounds are.
Thanks
JDG

I think they are monitored by Punkbuster but maybe Jaymz can confirm this. If this is true you won't be able to change the files for online play.

Err you use to be able to edit your audio.con in your profile.
Was something like:
*BLANK*
Could have been changed since 1.5 since that goes way back and I have no idea if it will work with PR's sound system. You really don't want to mess about with the audio files or anything within the PR directory or you'll get PB kicked. Audio.con is where it will be at if anything.
EDIT: Commands no longer work / for a prior version and Audio.con appears to reset every-time you run BF2 / limited to the options on that page.
EDIT 2: The commands actually date back to BF1942 and were scrapped as of an early BF2 patch, the chat options don't appear in BF2 any more sadly.

Hmm...thats disappointing.
If I edited my audio.con and saved an edited version for every time the game loaded I could do this?
What do I edit in that file? (Ill go take a look).
EDIT: Seems like the audio.con file isnt going to work. Its just a save for the settings in the audio console rather than a way for me to mod the radio sounds themselves in the game.

Yeah it was changed apparently, the two lines of code I found were exploited apparently and had to be removed circa 1.1. The other system was the legacy "chat" commands from BF1942/BFV which EA didn't have the wisdom to carry over, IDIOTS! I'm highly doubtful this can be achieved now and there are a lot of people out there requesting this on EA forums even now.
Still if you want to look on the bright side you could still be playing vBF2 *shudders*

True!
I hope there is a way around this in the future. If anyone on the PR Dev team needs a helping hand in the future on this (modding radio traffic chatter or any other sound files) I am willing to help.
