Loving the new IDF and hamas, but Asad has turned into a spamfest which i dont think suits PR:
http://i46.tinypic.com/2uswx93.jpg
The area i highlighted is out of bounds and means at the start of the game, when hamas build a hideout behind mansion in turns into a massive spamfest with no room for flanking. not good gameplay. I suggest removing the hill highlighted above and have some fields. let the IDF flank rather than just throw themselfs at hamas whistle they do the same intill game ends.
thoughts?

maarit, stay on topic, turning asad in to a 2k map is alot more work than what gazz is saying, the change gazz has specified can literally be done in 15mins or less if deemed appropriate, your change is basically "make new map"

Imo the flags should just be changed back, the is way too small for a linear push on the mansion and the original layout worked fined..

This map and Ochamichira should just be taken out in my opinion. They are just way too spammy and vanilla compared to the other maps. These represent everything PR shouldn't be.

yeah,IMO asad khal is too little map, thats why i proposed 2km map cos map is very nice but too small.
but maybe first try take out that out of bounds area.

Really? I thought this map is a good break from normal, PR, the linear push towards Mansion means the IDF and Hamas get stuck in around the barn, and ou don't often see such large fire fights in PR. I think it is a bit in Hamas favour though as they have one every round I played on this map.

See no problem whit the size as it can be fixed by moving the flags a little bit..

it is a break from PRs gameplay, but not a good one. Forcing players down each others throats with little room for flanking is very vbf2/cod and not what PR is about... teamwork.

I completely disagree, I've been having amazing rounds of Asad Khal ever since the change. It forces interaction between the squads and APCs. If you've got good communication and good teamwork, you can punch through and roll Hamas up. Removing the dod to the north is a good idea, but not changing the flag layout.

a 200m forced frontline with 32v32 including a few APCs is pure fail, open the map up and allow for teamwork and flanking

I agree with you.
Almost every time i've played Assad as IDF, i'd kick Hamas's ***.
I think the mountains should be kept, with a change that you could actualy climb it. The mountain keeps the realism and a detail on the map that adds to game play.

That is the only change I do not support.
Come on, Asad is the only map that I get decent 40fps on...

I agree. The original layout worked fine.

It worked very good in 0,87. The m113 is of no use anyways. The main problem is that Hamas begins with all flags and that they can build "FOBs" so easily. The old setup MEC vs GB work out better.
The changes that gazzthompson would change much I think. It would just give Hamas more places to build Hideouts at.

Imo, this map has a bigger problem: some buildings' stairs cannot be walked down without jumping(which costs sprint). There is a little wall in front of the stairs on the outside of the building...

Keep the flag layout like it is now, asad as never been as fun.
IDF ususally wins even if they dont take the mansion, which should be adressed somehow.

IF the ID attacked together with the APCs wakl behind them , people taking down RPG gunners with marksman rifles and such..you could take a flag...but everybody has their own uberleet squad who thinks 6 v 25 will work.
Use smoke, use cover, supressing fire... maybe its the problem with players thinking this is COD/vBF2, not using the equipment given.
And in the end, ive only seen hamas win once out of 4 rounds i played, preserve tickets if IDF and you will win, simple.

asad kal has be best when MEC and Brits fight. removing brits and giving they Israel fine, but put back the MEC agaist they.

I disagree, I often see teamwork on Asad Khal, and if IDF actually used their APC'S properly instead of just rushing them to Mansion the battle would be quite easy for Isreal. Teamwork isn't down to the map, it's the players playing the map. Flanking isn't the only tactic in the book.
