Asking SL for kit rights

I suggest having the squad leader grant "kit rights" to his squad members:
The idea is to stop people from creating lots of fake squads only to get kits, and also to encourage squads to stick and work together. In addition, the idea is to further realism - in real life you get assigned a weapon based on your training and the decisions of your superiors, not because you beat the other lads in a footrace to a big box full of guns.
A side benefit would be to make it easier to assign different roles to squad members, and have them stick to those roles - as SL you don't want to order Jim to lay down cover fire with the AR and find that the kit has been snatched up by Pete and is now lost.
Ideally it would work like this:
You create a squad as normal. 5 people join. They run to nearest crate and request kits as usual. A message pops up on your screen saying "Player 'OMGURMOM' asks to take the sniper kit. Accept/refuse?" You press PageDown and it's refused. The player disconnects in impotent rage and goes to play CoD instead.
Then 'Teamplayer' asks to pick up the AR-kit after telling you in a calm and competent voice on VoIP that he wants to use it to support your squad. You press PageUp and the kit gets issued to him.
Now that you have used your 'AR grant', you cannot issue it again until 'TeamPlayer' either disconnects or loses it somehow.
To prevent abuse, all kits would be pulled back to the common pool if the squad leader disconnects or disbands the squad, in which case the players holding limited kits would immediately be issued basic kits instead.
I'm sure there's something I haven't thought about, but I'm sure the basic idea is good. Comments welcome of course.
