[Help] Starting off

I am sorry if I posted in the wrong section or forum. I am looking to start making mods for battlefield 2 such as weapon and vehicles but have yet to find a tutorial explaining how to. I have had experience modding for multiple games so learning how to model or make a new folder isn't a problem. I am assuming I could grasp this easier than someone who just decides to randomly start modding. Can someone help me out with the basics of making your first weapon for use in battlefield 2?
