iam pretty sure the dumpster has bombs from the mk80++ series
but does it have the JDAM montage on it or is it just the (dumb) free fall non guided bomb?
and how much lb does it have ? having a little fight with my friend and he says it has the jdam montage on it

I think he is asking what type of bomb (and poundage) is modeled in the back of the new bomb truck (dump truck), and whether or not it has the JDAM system modeled on it or if it is just the unguided drop version of the bomb.

Personally I haven't had a look at the bomb truck up close myself.

Judging by that picture, it looks like 2 mk82s (although it is really hard to tell), and no visible JDAM system (since they tend to be a different color then the bomb itself).

well....*puts on nerdy glasses and takes out giant book titled "History and Politics of Project Reality" ... I would imagine them having bombs that they got from MEC or bombs they got from MEC military bases that were abandoned.

I'm going to say they are unguided bombs of 500lb. type. I've seen this bad boy (Gary) go off a couple of times, and it's no JDAM type explosion. Yes, it makes a bang, but not that big of one.

I believe that the devs stated that the requested bombs that are called in via the commander on maps is a 2000 lb. bomb (most likely a single mk84 with the JDAM system attached) and if I am correct in assuming that "Gary" (OMG truck, Big Dump, Dump Truck, Bomb Truck, whatever you want to call it) has 2 mk82s (500 lbs. each) that would make it 1000 pounds of ordinance total which would equad about 1/2 of the power of the commander JDAMs.

But JDAM does not denote a specific type of ordinance, only the guidance system used.

Thanks for the update on military weapons systems........oh wait, I'm a Marine, WORK ON AIRCRAFT, and spend most of my time either playing PR or studying the military.

If you pay attention to how most people refer to the 2039lbs. Mk 84 with the JDAM upgrade, which is designated as the GBU-31, most call it just the JDAM. I do know some people aren't inclined on the designations of things in the military, so I do try to keep it simplified. i.e. I've called the amphibious assualt carrier on Muttrah City and it's bretheren maps with the ship an LHD, it's proper hull designation by the Navy, and people ask me what the hell I'm talking about.

i spawned at the Hamas base the other day, was looking for a transport out of base and, besides the motor-bikes, i noticed a rusty truck, hmm, so i took it for a ride... i had a great surprise in store, when i pressed r-mouse, as i was looking for a radio kaboom it went...
