The buildings need furniture

Great job with the amount of enterable buildings in .9
Now some of these rooms need a table or couch for a sniper or marksman to perch on. The idea being that that's what they would do, sit further back from the window and have a narrow field of vision without being observed. I find that the availablity of windows offers greater places to shoot from, however to shoot down and still remain in the crouched position you need to be right up against the window which will allow you to be seen.
What can be done? It would be great to be further back from the window crouched or prone. Maybe the odd piece in random rooms. I imagine I would learn the rooms quickly to avoid counter sniping.

yea they doo :S .. ONLY ISSUE More furniture the laggier it will be ( due to the amount of extra objects being placed ...
Way around it is REBUILD the buildings with furniture already placed so there part of the building its self

....
JUST like the building you would find on gulf of oman with the staircase and single bedroon ( 2 sofas TV ) small kitchen once you enter the room .. Same idea

awesome idea
adds to the realism too, since in real life, buildings have furniture

The mappers simply don't have time to add furniture. If you want to go through every building and add furniture, I'm sure they'd let you if you asked

.

that wont fix it since you would still have the polygons and triangles and theres the collision mesh which needs to be more complicated it would still be the same amount of lag

Trust me, I'm not asking for every room to be furnished. What I am asking for is the odd piece. I mean, most maps have random pieces of junk in the streets, ie: Gaza. So adding 12 objects in random rooms wouldn't be asking too much, would it? Now Beruit should have at least 30+ random pieces of furniture.
Picture this, 2nd level from the top floor in Beruit, you(sniper) and your spotter are spooning on the top bunk taking pot shots at Russians, who don't look very sexy...just close your eyes and imagine with me.

The more statics you have the more lag you will get...

Yeah its a pain in the *** to put furniture in buildings. What we have been trying to do is build up a library of assets that we can place in the houses and such. But that bring more and more processing power.

Muttrah I'll have you know is one of the more optimized maps in the mod and I wouldn't do anything to it to make it lag.

Just make couple of statics with furniture and use them occasionally. Just like that Dice made small building with the sofas and the tiny kitchen, and the stairs.

hey if you can do it without causing lag it would be sweet... but, if it's gonna cause lag forget it, not important to the game play at all.
i always thought it would be cool if there were AI civis hiding in the buildings, with a civi punish penalty for killing them on cache maps...
more locked doors on buildings would be cool aswell.
