Target Pointer/Illuminator/Aiming Light

Equip U.S. M4 rifles with a Target Pointer/Illuminator/Aiming Light, i.e. AN/PEQ-2, AN/PEQ-5, DBALA2.
The Device provides real-world operators many advantages. I think these features could be incorporated into the game quite well.
1. The device serves as a laser designator/target illuminator for air combat controlling
2. Provides visible laser beam day/night
Perhaps this could be the one of the officer's kit rifle. If some how all the features could be used in the rifle slots, and the rifle was equipped with an ACOG, It could replace the GLTD and free up a slot for something else.
SL Officer could use the visible laser to point out targets, buildings, area, where to move, etc.. assisting in directing squadmates

You're full of suggestions today aren't you?
There are markers for a reason, this laser wouldn't really help considering you can use a variety of markers to designate certain things. Either way this would simply take up the spot for the GLTD as you can only really have two settings on a weapon, shoot n' zoom, except for the grappling hook. Even then I doubt this could be coded on the same system. Not to mention its not really that more useful or a positive change.
According to WIKIPEDIA the AN/PEQ-5 is primarily in use with the Special Forces, which fortunately don't have a place in PR. And the PEQ-2 needs night vision to be seen? Also not in PR.

This is current way most ground units use for combat controlling. And is not longer a Spec. op specific item. Just a few years ago, rifle optics were considered Spec. ops. items, now almost standard for reg. light infantry units.
Also, almost every active regular U.S. Army/Marine Corp. unit today in iraq/afgan, has embedded spec. ops personnel from SEALs, Army spec ops, and Air force combat contollers who provide specific abilities to the main force army/marine group. Combat contollers or SEALs for calling in Air support from Aircraft carriers or AF bases, SEALs and Delta guys to provide Sniper Overwatch while reg. Army or Marine establish FOBs, etc......
REGULAR Army Kid. M4A1 rifle, Aimpoint comp, and an AN/PEQ-5

Cool picture. Interesting piece of kit. The only question I have is how you would want it to work with regards to the current GLTD. The Officer Kit still needs binocs, and needs a commo rose allowing him to command when his rifle is out, so where would you put this kit?

And how would it even work? Dynamic lightning isn't very good in the BF2 engine. You could probably use the muzzle flash effect to create a light source, but ... these tend to go through everything. The laser would be visible through buildings and everything.

Not to mention I wouldn't be caught dead using one of these especially if it gave your position away during daylight.
Imagine using one on Kashan, even if you had one on for a second the enemy could look in the general direction and see you.
