Sorry, I didnt know what the proper title for this was :)
My suggestion is simple,
right now when your not zoomed in and are just running your gun is put down but if you shoot it goes straight up and down very fast almost instantly, to me this is somewhat in unrealistic and its really goofy, so why not put a timer so the gun goes down after 30-15 seconds from when you last shot that be more realistic I think.

I don't know how animations work in bf2, but if its possible to "reset" the animation before it ends, it should possible to keep the gun up by using longer firing animation.

Having a animation that holds the rifle, while it have a couldown will be fine, but 15-30 secs? bahhhhh,

rifles must have a couldown that 2 seconds to 5. depeding how much you shoot how course.

if your in the middle of a fight your not going to relax after 2- 5 secs its going to take you a good 15 to 30 sec to settle down

Its fine, weapons are heavy, you lower your weapon to look over the top, When you've just shot at a target while standing up standing up through a susat/ other scope. You do lower the weapon so that you can look over the sight and see what you've done, not after 15 seconds, scoping out is basically you lowering the weapon. Its fine as is imo besides i havent even noticed this before this thread

We've tried looking at ways to stop that from happening, but I'm afraid there's no simple/elegant solution.
