Aiming down the side of the gun

Hello everyone it is suggestion time again:

In the previous version using the LMG u were able to aim down the side of the gun and i thought that was quite realistic, because IRL I dont think I would look though a Scope in CQB and I would not shoot from the hip either, but instead of adding it to all assault rifles it was removed.

I think that adding this option to all assault rifles would also solve a big part of the deviation discussion since it would enable u to actually hit something in cqb without becoming insanely good at long range.

(I have not found something like that using the search function, however in case this is a resuggestion: SRY)

it is a good idea and has been brought up in the past


the only major problem is the limitation in kit space, as it would require an extra weapon slot. What do you remove in place for this?

u could remove the knife and use the shovel for fighting (primary fire) and shoveling (secondary fire) this would also be more realistic

Then you would not need unscoped rifles, i like the "gamble" when you have to choose between unscoped/scoped...

You also need some sort of melee or CQC function. What would you use to destroy a firebase?

At the moment there simply isn't enough slots, but it is a good idea which has been discussed before.

What I mean is that u could rearrange the shovel:
Primary Fire like the knife stab doing damage
Secondary Fire: Shoveling

That way the shovel could be used for combat and destroying FOBs and for digging

also you can charge up arm throw grenades.....

Yeah I think it should be possible to make a shovle do both for example by switching fiiremodes or create it as a secondary fire

Edit: HellDuke the map u got in your Signature is kind of ... old :-p

You'd think so..

But no. Secondary fire doesn't work like that for player-held weapons.

where we have a kit made just for digging firebases of course we might get kits stealers but thats a server rules and admin problem

it sounds alright, it will have to be in accurate though, for example a iron sight should beat a guy looking to the side of his gun, but should be more effective than the scope in CQC

MOUSE 1 = Smack some heads with shovel. Or stab. Think stabbing with shovel would be pretty effective as you can easily put your whole body weight on it :D

When in "aimed" mode by pressing MOUSE 2, MOUSE 1 becomes "dig some shit".

what about having a weapon fire mode that changes between building assets and cracking some heads?
