New PC

Simply put, I'm in need of a new PC. My problem is I don't really know much about anything. Done a fair bit of research but I figure I would get your guys' opinions. I've been using CyberPower Inc. who builds it and ships it out to you, but I may be willing to build it myself and save a few bucks. I was shooting for around 1100$ U.S. for the computer itself but that's not a solid number. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Don't buy that soundcard. Xfi Extreme Audio is the xfi-card that isn't xfi after all.
Either upgrade to Extreme Gamer/Music, or go with your onboard until you can afford it. What you want is EAX 5.0, proper sound is real important.

This, xtreme music is the way to go IMO.

Thought you needed a full set up, with peripherals etc?

800 W PSU is an overkill (that is, unless you're going to run this quad SLI). 550 W (not a "noname" brand) would do for this config.

Upcoming VGA cards are asking for only a single 12V rail with at least 38Amperes.

I bought a Corsair 650W, 52Amperes @ 12V. Wish I would have bought a higher model so I could be better future proof. I say, if you can afford a higher watt PSU with the right specs, buy it!

Really, if you can afford it, get a 1600W!

Heh about the power supply, I just threw that in cause I didn't know what i really needed. More or less a place holder.

Changed the sound card to this, OP is correct now.
