I was looking in my installed programs and i noticed that PR 0856 Core, 0874 Patch and 0874 levels were still installed alongside 0909 Part 1 and 2.
Here is a Pic:
Just wondering if i can uninstall the older files and 0909 will still wok fine?
Cheers

.9 should work fine without them.
At least I did it and I had no problem

I had to go and delete mine. The .9 installer was supposed to uninstall them, but failed to do that on my machine.

PR Installers don't "uninstall" previous versions, it just deletes files. The entries in your installed programs would get overwritten with the new version, except that with v0.9, the installer names were changed (Part 1/Part 2 instead of Core/Levels), so the installed programs list thinks it's a different program. The "Patch" will also show up as a different program, because of the different program name.
Anyway, yeah, you can go ahead and uninstall them. Shouldn't have any dramas, however, if you do, it will be easily fixed by a reinstall of v0.9

This was asked in PR Support while ago.
Easiest is to rename toe PR folderin the Mods of BF2 and then uninstall the old version and simply rename the PR folder back. But I have no idea if it deletes some other files so you can also do it in registery and simply delete the uninstall links. I did the registery trick myself.
Method 1.
Rename the PR folder to something else, uninstall them and then rename the PR folder back.
Method 2.
Start -> Run -> Regedit
goto Edit -> Find... and put "Project Reality" then find. After few finds it should show you position of the uninstalls, they have their own folders called something like "Project Reality 0.856 core" and "Project Reality 0.856 levels", just delete the folders completly and they should be gone from the "add/remove"
Method 3.
Start -> Run -> Regedit
Go directly to folders, on win7 they were at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

The installer will remove any previous versions of Project Reality automatically.
Didn't work for me.
I think the easiest way is to just to go to add/delete program list and uninstall all the old versions.. Alot easier than renaming the pr file and regedit....

I think he meant that it, by its very nature will replace all old files and clear the folder[maybe not clear it, but it will update all the new files it needs]
So while it shows that all those version are still "installed" they really arent.
Mine used to show from like .4 onwards or something, but if I look in my PR folder, its just a few gigs... not the .4 few gigs, plus .5s few gigs, plus .6 few gigs, etc. its just not reading that they get updated in the add/remove programs listing
