More weapon damage and ironsight zoom

It takes around 2 hits to the chest or 3 to the legs to "critically wound" someone with most rifles. That results in that mgs are way better than they should be. If they were as good as they are in game, the armies around the world would only use machine guns. The reason they are so good in PR is that they are the only weapon that can fire 2 or more shots in fast paste and still hit.
If you fire at a guy with a mg, and hit him, he will not die, and meanwhile, he will get like 40 bullets into you if he has seen you. If you have a ordinary rifle and try to shoot someone at a distance, you'll lay down, wait 4 seconds, hit him in the back. He'll rise up and run to cover and heal himself, which feels a bit silly.

I suggest that weapon damage for all rifles should be raised to that of Lee Enfield. Something like one hit to the upperbody except arms, instant death. Legs and arms, one hit, and you'll see white and black and bleed out in matter of seconds.
This would balance out the mgs.

Further more I suggest that there should be a iron sight zoom like in BF2. Than there wouldn't be such a unbalance between scoped and unscoped rifles. The computer screen is just too small. IRL I would say that it is just as easy to hit a target with a scope as with ironsight up to at least 250 m. To hit something at 250 meters with ironsight in game is way too hard compared to with scope.

From my POV the game is already punishing enough with limited RPs and the number of hits it currently takes seems to me to be a reasonable compromise. I would not change it.

In addition unfortunately due to the limitations imposed by the BF2 engine we cannot simulate different damage depending on which part of the body you hit (except headshots). Therefore there won't be any differentiation between an arm hit and a centre mass hit.


Iron sight zoom is a resuggestion and has been discussed plenty before, please search.

Technically if you're working with a Ironsight weapon, you have some kind of important role within your squad. I.E. HAT, Medic, Those people should be staying behind a little bit and do a little bit more suppressing then doing measured shots.

plus, i just disagree with both suggestions, i dont have a problem with either of the 'problems'
if anything, make the singleshot rifles have a shorter settle time than assault rifles (they might already)

I think we have discused both topics - 1st. response was soldiers wear body armor 2 hits is fine, zoom isn't realistic.

Yes sir, but the "downs" are not represented in PR/BF2.
