I am actually pretty happy when somebody pronedives in front of me, gives me that boost of satisfaction even before i kill them because i know i will kill them.

The game feels so much much better with deviation reset, its almost like heaven

Indeed. Pronespammers now bring a big fat grin onto my face.

I'm still getting my *** handed to me at the 0-10m range by blind pronespam. Exactly the range I was having trouble with prior to the patch. But I have noticed a definite drop off in people trying it at anything farther than about 15 meters.

Yeah i lol so hard at prone spammers now, rack up so many kills. lucky they are limited to mainly poor quality servers.

So what do you guys do?

Stand up and shoot them? Or crouch and then shoot them?

Not all ppl prone dive the sec they see u, some crouch, and after some rounds hit near them they panic, go prone and.. die love that kind of guys too.

Crouch, to maximize efficiency in all ways.

Yesterday I had such a lucky moment, i go along a wall with a hole in it, i walk past it, an US AR comes out bumps in me starts shooting, i turn around put a lucky g3 round in him and hes dead.

Word, I only stand when I can't see someone crouching.

my first impulse is actually to use the extra seconds the prone diver has given me to get behind cover

If the worst can happen it will, and that means even on max deviation there could be a bullet with your head's name on it.

Get behind cover, then deal with the threat, for all you know he'll have a smart friend who doesn't pronedive

4. Pause briefly to smile again

8. Giggle at the corpse

It's even better when you have a G3. One shot and he'll be down

One of my best encounters with prone divers was once at Op. Archer's castle. I had the infamous lottery gun, a.k.a. RPG-7, in my hands when I suddenly ran into random Canadian automatic rifleman. Naturally he dived instantly and started spraying me with his SAW, but thanks to the both prone deviation and the new AR deviation system, bullets were landing all over except the spot I was standing. I took my time to deploy my not-so-trusty RPG, aimed at the general direction where all the tracers were coming from and pulled the trigger. Thankfully Allah was favourable to my cause and rewarded me with a very little used Canadian automatic rifleman kit. Not a single bullet hit me during that episode. I then used said kit to defend our cache at castle and racked up 8 kills before we were overrun.

Disclaimer: I've had lots of bad moments with prone divers too.

But its much less stupid looking and not a wildly implausible action to take IRL.

Crouching is nice. Prone was just idiotic.

What mat552 said. Prone divers still all over the place. Even bots do it in coop...

ill still pronedive sometimes, especially at very large distance the decreased shape makes you much harder to hit.
At these very long ranges i will dive and wait the 5 seconds for my deviation to settle while my enemy keeps firing and missing.

Also, if you have been on the move for more than 5 seconds you are gonna have to wait for your deviation to settle anyways, so you might as well do it on the ground. so you either dive and spray or run for cover. but yeah, at close ranges diving usually is a mistake

At great distaces it doesn't matter. Prone diving annoys me only when its done right in my face, because it looks so moronic, and feels stupid in CQC. But for long distance engagements its mostly logical.
