How About Get Rid Of Supply Crates!

Ok.. Just a an idea. How about no supply crates at all (ammo boxes ok)

Trucks/transport choppers may pretend like supply crates. You have to bring a truck/chopper to build an FOB. All kits, ammos, field dressings can be requested from FOBs directly. They hold normal limit as supply crates and when dry another supply truck/chopper would be needed to re-supply them.

Seems like a Loy of extra unneeded coding to me. I could be mistaken as I don't code...
Also the ammo request kits at fob is a resuggestion.

Seems like moving back to PR .7

1. Why? What would it improve?
2. What's bad with the current system?

If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

I like only to be able to request kits from the FoBs, and supply crates just as it is but do you mean The heli should be just flying there or sitting and people build FoB that is unrealistic.

Seems like a step backward to me, reminicent of when we used to have APCs as mobile spawn/supply points.

The current system allows for a better simulation of logistics than one where supplies have to be taken directly from a truck/chopper. IRL these are high value, low armour assets and so generally drop off whatever they're transporting to the hot zone (or ideally, don't go anywhere near the hot zone at all), dump it as quickly as possible and GTFO. This is why militaries the world over invest in systems that allow them to pick up and drop off pallets as quickly as possible (with systems like the UK's DROPS).

As I'm sure you've picked up, I can't say I'm in favor of this suggested change.

What it would do is limit the amount of time that an FOB remains effective for selecting kits
but as you currently need a crate to build an FOB there is always one near by to select kits from.
(until it's destroyed or all Ammo Kits have been taken) and then in order to obtain kits you have to
re-supply with a new crate anyway. So probably not much change to gameplay there.

It would also limit the ability to provide mobile units with a crate from which to select HAT kits etc.
I believe it would also limit the role of logistics. Is it worth the effort?

Now there is a way that this could change game play, and that's if you limited an FOB
to a certain number of spawns as well as kit selections before it had to be re-supplied.
This would then require that an FOB needed to have a continual loop of re-supply and then
the importance preserving safe supply routes could become an additional focus of a game.

This could mean that a battle front is maintained rather than having random FOBs all over the place
and fragmented skirmishes between them and the nearest objective.

Lately the reality of putting a whole armory and FOB into supply crates discussed. I wanted to see what people think about it. I have no complains about supply crates other than I think they should also include unlimited kits too. :)

With the amount of time it sometimes takes to fit an FO in the 'perfect' place, I don't want a helicopter hovering over my head screaming "SHOOT ME ALREADY"

Through the wreck and the flames we shovel oooooooon...

Could still be based on supply lines by requiring a truck nearby to place structures instead of the crates. Not sure how to handle choppers.

I just hate having crates lying everywhere, in some cases the enemy doesn't have a good way to get rid of them.

Using teamwork to bring a constant steam of supplies is fun and realistic

removing that is kinda me

And that's a really helpful comment, try using reason and explaining
why you do not agree!
Or perhaps come up with something that might add to the debate.

And supply crates make sense, and they work.
