i have been pleading to bring back helicopters to al basrah for over a year now, the DEVS wont budge, they think its unbalanced or that the sound bug effects precious ears.

From what i hear, the map used to have 2 apaches and 2 Lynxs transports.

I would like to see 1 apache and 1 lynx back on the map.

I dont see how apache is unbalanced. There used to be one on karbala, and if you ever flew it you knew how badly you could get owned on that map.

The techs and the AA were the main killers of the apache and it was way to easy to take it down.

So to bring it back on al basrah , i could see it getting owned easily by techs and AA , unless of course the apache were hovering close to the ground over an Armor convoy, like 1 Tank and 2 APCs to protect it from techs while the apache would let loose on everything in sight with hellfires.

I would love to have a single transport chopper without crates added back even though they were a huge ticket bleed most of the time in the past.

Why is it too small?

It worked well with the Lynx. The map isn't too small because Al Basrah has a relatively low view distance.

I don't think the map is too small for helicopters such as the lynx but something like the chinook is too big. You'd have great difficulty making a drop inside the city.

Attack choppers are also slightly overpowered on the map particularly because of its small size.

Bring back a Lynx though (or the Merlin ). Although wasn't the Merlin removed because of bugs?

solution: remove some techs. They are OP against air assets anyways; and besides there's unrealistic amount of technicals.

Bring back a lynx, that will solve all problems of caches being on island and causing stale mates when the bridges get taken out.

It'd be great to get a helicopter back.

I really wish we could have one with a supply crate, but I'll sure settle for the lynx if it means we can gain some of our mobility back. Technicals may be overpowered, but I don't think that's likely to change any time soon. I'm sure we can make do even with them running around.

Yeah , when the lynx used to be on the map, i would get camped in the main by techs, but since they increased the dome of death on basrah that wont happen anymore.

Basrah is the same size as most PR maps.
