"just track it for 2 sec. fire and the weapon does the rest" well... this will be real predator!

I wish the SRAW was removed already. From what I understand the marines never really adopted it. Put the javelin in, and just give it the same damage characterstics as the SRAW so no one can complain "OMG JAVELIN OVERPOWERED1!"

Haha, I don't know about that.. the Javelin to make it realistic would have to be able to lock on.. which in turns leads for "OMG... Javelin r overpowered.".. not to mention, the Javelin rocket will have to be allowed to shoot forward before the actual rockets on the Missile kick in...


I believe the SRAW is just fine for now.. until it is seen fit by the Dev's to put in a Javey.

Get a decent model, use CA code and textures. Job done.

javalin would be uber hat. Lock on, fire, 1 hit kill anything. since it hits the top of the armor.. thats basically saying OMGWTFBBQPWN.

I know, I'm there now.

I understand why the Javelin hasn't been added into PR (and note, I'm saying that if the SRAW is used in game, the Javelin should be since it's actually used against armor), but the reality is that the Javelin has been purchased by both the USMC and US Army for engaging armor, and they have them in quantity. I believe some mod had a "working" Javelin system, although I can't remember who.

Combined Arms has a working one.

The problem is, the Eryx has to be guided, the PF98 (Chinese HAT)/Tandem RPG isn't guided at all, and the Javelin will be locking on. A bit imbalanced wouldn't you think?

Has anyone considered the SMAW as a HAT alternative?

Combined Arms was started in January of 2009 with the goal of testing the feasibility of a number of concepts for Project Reality that were deemed too radical as changes to implement without serious development and testing.

The problem is not the feasibility of implementing the weapon, but rather of balancing PR.

I don't think the balance would be affected.

Javelin - long set up time, 1 shot, long rearm time

Eryx - quicker set up time, 1 shot, quicker rearm time

RPG - same as Eryx but with maybe more rounds?


It won't be hard to balance it out at all.

The range for a moving target is 200m, overpowered? I think not.

Ithink if laser lock on would be added for the javelin like hellffires it would be balancing kinda if you didnt have a laze it wouldnt be guided

I heard that the javelin missile is too expensive and are not used as much. Soldiers would say that its just an honor to shoot one because of its price tag. They would rather use the cheaper and still effective weapons.

i've seen them use it to take out ONE sniper before,
anyway to make the HAT more realistic the effective range should be reduced so i doesn't blow up after 600m now we have the TOW's this shouldn't eb a probelm imo

But the russians and chinese have kick *** tanks with ATGMs..
