Strange lag

This is my first post on the forum, so first of all, hello everybody!

I have been struggling with the memory error for a long time, but the problem became worse with 0.9. So i searched the internet for a solution, and found one. The thing was to enable battlefield 2, to use more than 2 gb ram, with the program visual studios. After spending quite some time trying to make it work, i finally manage to do it. And it actually worked, i was no longer kicked every second time i joined a server.
But then i began noticing that the gamed lagged more than usual. So i tried using fraps to see how high my fps was. And that was the strange thing, i had a pretty good fps, usually over 60, but there was still lag. It didn't matter if it was a server with 30 ping or 150, the lag was still there.

I don't now how so set the game back, to only use up to only use 2 gb ram. So if anyone knows what to do about this, it would be great.

If you made a backup of BF2.exe revert back to that. If not I'm afraid you will have to reinstall the game :(

repatching with 1.5 bf2 patch might suffice too, since it replaces the bf2.exe with a patched version. However that 1.5 bf2.exe is supposed to have been patched with the large address awareness option. So it wouldn't really revert.

Thanks for the replies guys.

The problem is i have uninstalled battlefield and project reality, but the ram changes still seems to work. I have no idea how to use the program to set it back to standard.

Maybe your conclusion, relating lag to bf2.exe large adress awareness fix, is false.

I think this guide provides other suggestions for fixing as well:
