I briefly mentioned this weapons system in the suggestion thread about M2 optics.

Suggestion: Begin replacing select M2HB w/ the XM806. I'm thinking, start w/ the firebase deployed HMG nests, and a CROWS HMMWV w/ XM806, Stryker w/ XM806

Army plans to begin replacement/supplementing of M2 w/ LW50MG as early as 2011.

Clue is in the name chap - XM806 - as in experimental, as in not currently in widespread service as in not getting in the game at this time.
