Idea
After the large nerf of the pipebombs vs vehicles and the low amount of ArtyIEDs on maps, it would be a fresh change to get two pipebombs for the sapper kit.
Currently, one pipebomb cannot take down a fully repaired humvee or supply truck.
Dude just get the supply techie.
-Its usually being whore'd to plant team-killing fields, or was wasted.
LoL just liek run to the cache
-What if im creating an ambush on a supply route far away from the caches and would like to actually destroy a humvee or supply truck?
Why?
Currently, the regular sapper kit is unable to take down vehicles with one pipebomb that is issued to them without running to a cache or having a supply vehicle. It would also make the sapper kit much more useful against vehicles.
I'm aware the sapper kit gets mines, but you can plant 30 of them.... but only mark 5... so I gave up on trying to make minefields as they kill more friendlies than enemies.
That's why I'm pushing for more pipebombs to cut down on team killing and give a boost to the effectiveness of the kit.
Options:
- Give two pipebombs to insurgent
- Give insurgent two cellphones with one IED attatched to each phone, move shovel to 9th slot since we don't get bandages.
- Give taliban / hamas engineer arty IED instead of pipebombs.

The IED's were being spammed, they made them less powerful because you could get a group of 6 people with sapper kits and put them down. Use it in conjunction with team members for best effect.

You can still do that in this patch, but you are half as effective as last patch.
As long as you don't have a supply tech or cache near.

It's half as effective because they designed it like that. They changed it because they were being spammed. IED's Discouraged building firebases and ground transportation, since humvee's got 1 hit from 1 IED and they instantly die, same with suppy vehicles.

3 pipes filled with powder and nails taped together with a phone should at least kill the crew of a humvee or damage it heavily.
I blew one up directly under a humvee, it barely was smoking...
They stopped and stared around like nothing then the .50 killed me.
With my option of giving two phones and two pipebombs would cut down on the spam, as you couldn't blow both of them up at the same time but still have bombs.

1) I'm sure the supply techie wouldn't mind giving you 1 of its 3 crates, you're reason supports giving other kits more rounds just because 'people might not give me ammo'
2) see reason one, but of ammo and you're sorted, I'd like to see you carry enough explosives to destroy an armoured vehicle on your back to your target which is far away from the cache...
also, the ammo limitations of the INS teams means combat gets centered around caches - which is good for gameplay imo as it gives it rhyme and reason.

Meh i dont remember this "spam" of wich you speak.
I thought the logi truck and hummer issue was as simple as dont drive over the bloddy things but thats to much ask.
I say that because I myself have never had a hummer/truck i was driving blown up by a IED.

Just adding extra IED for the sapper would make the kit imba compared to other kits. However I like the idea of 2 ied:s for the sapper. They could give away AT-mine to shotgun insurgent. Shotgun guy is no doupt the weakest kit and hardly anybody uses it. In my mind it also make sence to have one class just for minefields. Sapper have too much things to do when he have to take care minefields, grenade traps and IED ambushes. Thinking of sappers role he should not have AT-mine at first place.

I use the mine as a tactic actually.
Not going to tell my strategy, but it needs to stay with the kit.

Humms IRL are armored and if a pipe bomb was detonated under one pending on the size it hardly would scratch it. Not to mention the operators would just laugh and be like wtf. It would have to be huge for nails and rocks to heavily damage the humm and kill the crew

Agreed, a pipe bomb feels like a really bad speed bump But no penetration to the 1151's or 1117's if they add those.

Why exactly have we started to refer to Improvised Explosive Devices as pipe bombs?

Pipe bomb - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"A pipe bomb is an improvised explosive device,"

For easy differentiation between big boom and small boom IEDs. Small boom IEDs are modeled after pipe bombs so get called that meaning no confusion between the various types of IED.

People still call Collaborators Civilians. People still call the proximity IEDs mines since they use the same model as a mine.
