I was wondering why is there Mi 28 in the game not Mi 24. Is it not true that Mi 24`s are more used in russian airforce.

its the fact that we do not have a Mi24 model at the moment, so we are using a vBF2 asset here the : Mi28

i agree that it would be nice to have a Mi24 in the futur ;)

I think someone is making a Mi-24 model for some community force, so be sure to thank them later on.

The Polish forces one is a reskin of the Special Forces one.

Although it would make more sense, its a bit OP'd considering it can carry infantry, and that it would be unrealistic for it to not have that ability.

Why dont you ask USI, they have good model of the Mi-24, but it needs reskin.

ARMA has an MI24 so its all good for me lol. I was reading that the MI28 was never produced in mass numbers. Is that accurate?

Russia has like 30 of Mi 28 in its air force inventory, and sh*tload of mi 24s. But I would rather see Mi 28 stay as russian main attack chopper in PR. Its looks alot more modern than the mi 24 and it is more modern.

After Mi24 is made, Mi28 could be on some specific maps, or as an objective to destroy in the scenario mode :D

True, BUT. Mi 24 is really outdated, it doesnt really have guided missile capability as the mi 28 does. Mi 28 can be compared to apache and we cant have a silent eagle or some other Rus vs US map where US has apache as its main attack chopper and Rus having mi 24 as main attack chopper, it wouldnt be fair. Im not saying that mi 24 sucks, I love it. It went through so many wars and battles in early past warfare history like Afghanistan, Chechnya and so on, but its time to move on.

if its what they use IRL, then I'm afraid that should take precedence, otherwise you'd see alot more advanced technology ingame such as CROWs on tanks and humvees

There are other ways of balancing teams other than giving them equipment they wouldn't use, such as having 2 Mi-24s vs only 1 apache, or X mi-24, vs X Apache, but Russians get tunguska and US only get avengers etc.

Though iirc there are NO russian mi-28 vs apache maps in PR at this time (though I firmly prefer helis over jets)

I support using the mi-24

asymmetrical balance is still balanced, its just more interesting.

O yeah.... I forgot that US doesnt have an attack helo on Silent eagle, lol. But isnt Kashan desert has mi 28 vs apache? Yeah it does :D , I knows its MEC vs US but the mi 28 on MEC is completely the same as the russian.

yeah it does, but thats out of context as the MEC assets combine in a slightly different way

I'd say to use the Mi-24 as a COIN aircraft. Specifically a large map against Chechnya. As it doesn't have precision munitions as advanced as the Mi-28 was made to have, it would act as a gunship, thus being effective against infantry, light vehicles and structures rather than armor. Sort of like their littlebird. Except a helluva lot more powerful. If we ask, USI will probably give us the Hind, as they've given us pretty much every piece of aircraft that isn't a BF2 asset.

Actually, they've given us, the Apache, Littlebird, A-10, F-16, MiG-29, Su-25, yeah, And everything else is pretty much BF2, with the exception of the Huey (love child of a three way, literally), and the Tornado.

The Eurofighter might be all PR though.
