PR installer freezes when double-clicking the setup.

I've downloaded PR's part one and two each rounding of at almost 1.60 gig.

My problem is that when I double click the setup (part one or two), either it takes a while to freeze my whole computer's processes completely like freezing explorer.exe or just nothing happens but you can see it's trying to load something.

I have the previous versions of the PR Core 0.87 and Levels for 0.87 and when I ran their setup's it worked fine.

What might be causing this? Lack of memory? - cause I have one Local Disk consisting of 49 gig of free space which only has 7 gig free space left and those pr installers are located in that local disk. I have another Local disk too consisting of 100 gig which has around 80 gig of space left.

I want to play pr so bad - just to fly the whole time. I'm getting bored with GTA san andreas online :P

Sorry, looks like there was nothing wrong with it after all. I double clicked the setup and waited for a full 4 hours but nothing happened. Then I tried to double click it again and it suddenly worked. And I was able to play online.

Only thing that's bugging me is it had a few corrupt errors throughout the "part 2" installation.

Verify that your files are not corrupted:

I suggest you use a download manager like FDM, GetRight or FlashGet or a BitTorrent client like µTorrent or Azureus. Those programs are generally able to resume interrupted downloads and this way prevent data corruption. I believe they are essential for large downloads like the pr installers. Also you can use them to "resume" the corrupted download - this might have them redownlaod only the broken bits instead of the whole thing again.

It might also be a file system issue, scan your hard drive (chkdsk).

High level of fragmentation can cause slow loading. Run a defragger of your choice (I like MyDefrag and Auslogic's Disk Defag (free for personal use)).
