all this talk about PR:V has got me really hyped up for the vietnam mod, im so jittery imagining multiple huey's flying in a line with full squads in them with m60 gunners flying over the jungle.

so to help us for the wait lets make a list of vietnam war movies

ill start:
We Were Soldiers (2002)

Full Metal Jacket (1987)
Good Morning Vietnam (1987)
Apocalypse Now (1979)

The Odd Angry Shot - Aussie movie about the SAS in Nam. Should try and see it - will give some good tips to everyone whilst waiting for PR.V to appear.

It was based on a fictional movie about the Vietnam war, if that counts.

Since all the real vietnam movies i know about is taken,ill have to take Forrest Gump

Tropic Thunder so was about the Vietnam war! Kinda...

But seriously if you haven't seen it Born on the 4th of July (1989) is deffinately worth seeing

The Deer Hunter (1978 )is also quite a good watch. Its different to most vietnam movies, almost like a mix of Full Metal Jacket and Apocalypse Now i thought.

My least favourite is 1968 Tunnel Rats (2008 ) its just a gory line up of all the ways that engineers died in the tunnels of vietnam, i felt a little sick having watched it

Another two golden Oldies are The Siege of Firebase Gloria (1989 ) and Go Tell the Spartans (1978 ) both have some quite cool action sequences.

Operation Dumbo Drop was pretty awesome.

Gotta be Hamburger Hill and Full Metal Jacket.

BUT there's one thing that's topped EVERY film. The book SOG - The Secret Wars of America's Commandos in Vietnam by J. Plaster. read it, it's mind blowing.

the start of Tropic Thunder made a mess on my boxers when I saw it (just the bit with the hueys flying, n the 60 gunner pointing) *UUHRRRGHHH*

Its not a movie but Tour Of Duty is a pretty good show about vietnam (the first seasons the best imo)

The Green Berets, a 1968 film featuring John Wayne

Casualties Of War.

Pretty good movie, pretty negative though.
